Also if you use anything other than the direct chat (locational voIP only people near you can hear) the server collectively loses it's poo poo so this is great for actually communicating over long distances as a group. rizuhbull posted:You can team up with fellow players This however is complete bullshit.

blackguy32 posted:So this is just Arma 2 right? I don't have to reinstall Operation arrowhead or anything do I? You need OA as well. Fun story, I finally got to do more than get shot not even a minute after I spawned. Though, I was shot AT. I spawned in some nowhere village I can't remember the name of, followed by hearing gunshots and bullets landing by me before the intro text had even vanished. Pissed off that I was about to be spawnkilled for a third time in a row, I started firing wildly at my attacker with my revolver. I'm not exactly sure why, but this caused him to panic and make a mad dash out of town. I thought maybe he was getting a new vantage point but I wasn't shot at anymore after that. Come to think of it I should have tracked him down and finished him off, he probably had something valuable he really really didn't want to lose. semper wifi posted:played for a bit tonight, seems really fun. shot a guy who i thought was trying to shoot me but actually wasn't, felt kinda-bad. ran with a group, started with five, ended with two, we met up with another group and explored a town for a little bit, someone started shooting at us at a T intersection. one of us went down, I went to bandage him and then got shot in the head. kind of sucked to get shot in the head and killed instantly after two hours of exploring and fighting, but i guess that's part of the experience. At least your story didn't end with you accidentally shooting the guy you were traveling with in the face during a zombie attack. (Sorry secretagentcow )

If you get a chance and want to take out some bandits/survivors craftily in a large city or town, throw a whiskey bottle or smoke grenade at them. It basically brings all of the zombies in the area to the location that it lands, meaning they get swarmed by every zombie in town.

astr0man posted:Some awesome helicopter action tonight. We found and repaired a huey in Elektro and proceeded to shuttle ~20 some goons to the factory near Gorka without crashing the chopper at all. We lined up to take a picture with everyone saluting and then some bandit with a DMR (*cough* shotgoon *cough*) got into the door gunner seat and killed ~3/4 of us. The chaos as the photoshoot turned into a massacre was amazing, in moments the entire field was littered with the dead and dying and people were scrambling to save the wounded. I managed to drag myself to the truck that was providing that headlight with both legs broken and got help in time thanks to Lamer, who I incidentally helped earlier with a blood transfusion. Later, robobalboa shot me in the back of the head while we fought zombies and i died, but I revived unconscious in the same area and some goons saved me in time once more. Normally I die in this all the time, but lately I just seem to be repeatedly cheating death.

So today when I was startled in my map screen by someone shooting at me at point blank range with a CZ, I ended up cutting my elbow pretty deep on the edge of my desk when I jumped. Man, people are getting really really good at griefing ![]() Stealth edit: The best part was people just thought I was really really angry, when the truth was even more humiliating OrangeSoda fucked around with this message at May 11, 2012 around 04:38 |

keyframe posted:The sooner you accept the fact that you can't even trust your dad in this game the sooner you can start surviving for more than an hour. Incredibly true. Before I even put the LLJK tag in my name or went bandit, I only met a survivor who didn't try to kill me once. Every other time they would just shoot me on sight. Now I can just work together with goons on mumble if I need help and shoot pubbies before they can shoot me. OrangeSoda fucked around with this message at May 13, 2012 around 19:11 |

You should join the rest of us on mumble, we do all sorts of crazy stuff together like fixing up buses and setting up devious traps for pubbies.

I have. It's basically kind of like dayZ without the zombies. You scrounge for food, weapons and vehicles while trying not to die from starvation, dehydration or other players. It plays alot different though in that there's weapon stores, vehicles everywhere and you find all of your guns either in vehicles or super rare stockpiles that have entire arsenals in them (If you ever find one of these hide it well and do not let anyone know.) There's also a good deal of base building and placeable structures which I really wish dayZ had. Also there's sort of teams but you can "go rogue" at any time. Any time.
