I tried modifying the single player mission to put some aircraft in. Sadly the game kills you if you try to enter them. It allowed me to spawn with an M249 though.

You'll need to know how the mission editor works.

Get the cbpo extractor from here and extract the single player mission. Open the editor with Chenarus, save the empty mission in "User missions". Go to MyDocs\Arma 2(other profiles)\name\missions\missionname. Overwrite mission.sqm with the one from the extracted mission.

Load up the mission editor with the mission you saved. You can modify the player spawn unit in the spawn forest in the south east corner of the map by switching it to one of the soldier types. (I just copied info from a mission file directly, but this should work too.) Stuff like spawning ammo crates should also work.

Then just replace the mission file and package it up with cpbo.

DISCLAMER: I don't know enough Arma modding to guarantee that it won't connect to the servers, you're doing this at your own risk.

Bootcamp is used to run Windows and OS X alongside on the same computer, you'll need to buy a copy of Windows and have enough disk space to install it. It's likely the only way of reliably run Arma on a mac, Wine doesn't work with it, and VMs like Parallels have too low performance with games.

I had almost the same thing happen to me a few hours ago. I tried joining a server without having the latest version of the game. After updating the game i joined the same server, and had an identical copy of myself standing there. I didn't kill him though.

Instead I ran away, right into a bandit. We pumped each other full of bullets, but neither one of us died. Even though my blood went down to about -5000, I didn't get any of the blood loss effects. I disconnected and tried another server, somehow I spawned healthy with all my equipment, like none of the events happened.

Looks like it's been updated with an item spawning menu now, no mission file editing required anymore.

Edit: It spawns vehicles as well, but only the ones that spawn normally.

The only enterable church AFAIK is in Elektro, and looks like this.

You can find toolboxes in any industrial building, they look like regular toolboxes made of blue plastic, and they go into a tool slot.

That building has been placed there with the mission editor, it isn't there in the game. The only two barracks on the map are in the NW airfield, they're marked with the gun symbol on this map:

Just aim at the corpse and press "Gear" when it appears. The backpacks are separate from the regular inventory, you have to open yours in the gear screen if you want to stuff things in there.

Is there a trick to setting up tents? I've been trying to get one up in many different places, on different versions and severs, but nothing works. It always gives the same "unable to place tent" message.

Yes, there are three castles that spawn loot, marked on this map. They have generic loot, and only spawn a few zombies. Not many players know of them, so they are relatively safe farming spots.

Headshots still instakill, right? As long as you take zombies out before alerting them you can make very efficient use of a PDW.

There is also this one. All the crashes I've found have not been on spots on the maps, though some of them have been close by. They seem to spawn anywhere on open fields.

Except that both those situations are supposed to be covered. The game should teleport or respawn you out of the plains, and the respawn button gets enabled when you're crippled.

I read about the feature in some release notes someone posted in one of the threads here, maybe it was for the next version.
