So how does playing with friends work? Do you both randomly spawn somewhere on Chernarus and pray that you can somehow find each other, or is there some kind of mechanic in place to make grouping up easier? Also, if you have a character on one server, does it transfer over to other servers?

I just found a group of 4 guys in a town, shot all of them to death over the course of about 2 minutes, then took all their poo poo. I think I'm in love.

I wish they would tone down the obnoxious screen blurring thing when you get low on blood. I had a great pistol fight with a guy that left me with about 400 blood left and it took me about an hour to scavenge enough food to get it back above the threshold. I have an ALICE pack that's filled with medical poo poo and blood packs but I didn't have anyone to do a transfusion and I don't trust anyone that doesn't have an LLJK in front of their name. I spent my entire evening sneaking around the perimeter of towns dropping people with a CZ 550, then going in for their stuff. Pubbies on rooftops and looking out windows are real easy pickings so my humanity is down to around -10,000 now. Vatek fucked around with this message at May 11, 2012 around 14:46 |

Staying away from large cities, doing careful recon from a distance and having a very long range weapon has done wonders for my survival rate. Plus, sniping pubbie strongholds from 500 meters away isn't getting old anytime soon. I get most of my supplies from inland towns because the odds of running into anyone in them is exceedingly slim. Cherno and Elektro draw tons of people and staying in them for very long, especially during the day, is a great way to get killed. Plus, all the equipment you get there is lovely. The inland areas seem really devoid of players. I've spent two days wandering around Stary Sobor and the NW airfield on multiple full servers and I've seen exactly one person. The item spawns are pretty lovely too.

Not only that, but non-Makarov/revolver pistol ammo is rare as gently caress so if you have to kill more than a handful of them you're going to burn all your ammo in a matter of minutes, assuming you don't get raped by a mob of zig-zagging lightning fast zombies.

I really don't want to play with a lovely, murky vision that's obstructive as all gently caress, so I play with 1080p both regular and 3D, but are there any other settings that are particularly hard on GPUs? If your GPUs are running at 100C you need to dust out your case and take off the plastic covers on the GPUs and clean the dust out from the heatsinks. This game puts a lot of stress on GPUs but 100C is a cleaning issue, not a load one.

It forced a buddy and I to make some pretty hasty decisions in Stary Sobor tonight that lead to our demise. We could have opted to high tail it out and strike a camp in the cover of the woods, but we had already been spotted, so instead we tried to take on what we thought was a lone bandit in the town. Turns out, he wasn't alone. Go figure. It gets to the point where you need to carry way too many goddamn things just to survive and if you run out of just one of them you're hosed. I'm all for the survival aspect but when you have to fill 3/4 of your inventory with blood, food, water, painkillers, antibiotics, matches, logs and on and on it goes from interesting gameplay to tedious checklist. JosefStalinator posted:Yikes, does this mean we should get north as quick as possible before the bandits destroy the spawning newbies? There are several spawn points and camping them is not really practical or worthwhile. You're more likely to be shot by some guy who just respawned for your beans than death by bandit.
