I've been waiting for an excuse to buy Arma II because I've been super into simulators lately and this game seems to have much of the same mentality so give me a zombie-based multiplayer roguelike and I'll find some way to write it off on my taxes.

I only got to play a little of Daisy before I had to leave for work this morning (most of which was trying to get into a drat server), but already I think it might be the most effective zombie game I've played yet. In the 20 or-so minutes I played (on a nighttime server, by the way), all I did was make my way though a deserted town, poking through piles of litter for something useful and only finding a can of coke. I didn't even see any zombies or survivors. Yet it was an amazingly tense experience the whole time. Not a lot of games make you desperate not to even see any enemies.

This is making me so hyped for this, I really want to get in on it.
Anyone willing to give me ARMA 2 on Steam or trading it? I don't have alot, but I wanna get in on this awesome mod.

Steam goons will hold off ask around to see if a game that's on sale for 3 dollars is any good, begging them for 30 dollars worth of game is going to be a hard sale.

I just wish we had our own server. I would play more but it sucks that when you have time, all the servers are full.

It would be much better if the dev had "official" servers that had the persistent character database across servers stuff but allowed people to set up private servers with locally persistent characters. Has the dev team said anything about allowing this or is it just a "THIS IS OUR BABY" situation?

I guess I'll just let it sit until I can't bear it anymore, then. Does it usually reach towards the end and then just pause for awhile?

If you're in Windows 7, you can alt tab out and the icon will flash when the Receiving Data process is over.

How do packs work, exactly? It doesn't seem to give me extra slots or anything. What good is having one?

What does it take to repair a car anyway? I haven't seen any myself, but it would be nice to know what to look out for in case I ever find one.

This isn't really a game. Maybe a real game, from a studio, will come from the concept. For me, this is art. My intention was to generate real human emotions: high on the list was frustration, being pissed off, and a general distaste for some elements of society and what happens when the poo poo really goes down.

If you're fed up, frustrated, maybe even angry then I've done my job. I don't want money, fame, power from it. I've achieved precisely the effect I wanted even if you never play the game again, and hopefully made people think about a few things along the way.

It's good thing the game he made is so fun because otherwise this condescending bullshit would make me not want to play it anymore.

I think you should want to eventually play ARMA II/CO in its normal format. However, I will say that at least 3 goons bought the game because of this mod and do not regret the decision.. yet.

I more or less bought ARMA II because of this mod and I've been having some fun with regular ARMA. I suck like crazy at, it's janky, and you have to be more used to "sim" experiences (as in enjoy hiking through the forest, looking at the scenery for 5 minutes straight while nothing happens). However, if you are interested in a weird multiplayer zombie roguelike, then chances are you can have some fun with ARMA as well.

The zombie movement wouldn't be nearly as bad if they didn't run at the speed of sound. A nice happy, medium between full on sprint and walking would be grand.

Are you fed up? Frustrated? Maybe even angry? Then Rocket's art has been successful!

It's not the speed that bothers me so much as the way they zig zag at complete right angles without animating on a dime, so you can't really predict their movement because it might take another random vector at any moment.

Man, apparently the Lee Enfield is great for taking down zombies with one shot but also great for attracting every zombie within a mile radius. I think I'm going to use a quiter gun next life.

Anybody mess around with the crossbow? I used it for a while before a zombie knocked me down. It doesn't seem very strong and it seems hard to aim but it's silent and you can recover an ammo. How does it do on players?

Your character isn't saved when you die. When you die you lose everything.
