protip: dont climb ladders when you have a pistol out, when you get at the top you unholster it and the animation makes you take a step back and you fall down unless you get lucky. Getting killed from that is extremely rage inducing.

Discovered this the hard way. Didn't see a single zombie but I died to a drat ladder.

Is there any reason why Im being kicked from a game right after joining a server?

Decided to be the pain-in-the-rear end sniper, for once. Eight guys went insane trying to find me in Elektrozavodsk and I ultimately wound up getting found out, smoked out of my nest and broke my leg running from the four survivors. Zombies ate me.

I think the tension the PvP creates adds wonderfully to the atmosphere of dread and paranoia.

I can't wait to shoot down some guys helicopter that took him 3 hours to get.

Better still, snipe him through the windshield and steal it.

All for this idea. We need a place to set up camp and build our force's strength. Some place hidden from the pubbies, but large and flat enough to land a helicopter.

We need tents to house resources. Medical supplies, food & water, navigational equipment, weapons & ammo, vehicle parts, etc. Vehicles to quickly and easily raid any location we please and pick up fellow goons. Uaz's, little birds, attack choppers, etc. And when fortifications are in, we entrench the entire area making it impossible for pubbies to get our stuff. Something like a turret or multiple sandbags randomly placed would make it a nightmare for an intruder to enter without a goon or two outmaneuvering him.
Someone calls out the location of camp? We pack up as much as possible and move it elsewhere.

Within the week, we could have M4's, Remingtons, revolvers, CZs, NVGs and other top-tier items ready to be given out to those raiding for more gear. Which would snowball until we own the server.

This will work best if you play the right kind of music over the side channel while you're raiding cities in your vehicles.

While I'm sure there are some people out there who would bitch and moan about you exploiting the game, the vast majority of people are going to not care as long as you're not shooting them in the head and stealing their stuff (so they can shoot you in the head and steal your stuff).

Yeah, the name of the game here is pragmatism. Being utterly willing to gently caress people over has kept me alive for a very long time. That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with exploiting zombies through doors, up stairs, ditching them at the bases of ladders, and using knee-deep water as a way to slow them down.

There's a fair bit of bitching on the mod's forums from people who think that zombies don't pose as much of a threat as other players do, and that their bugginess nullifies their danger entirely. I disagree - getting a zombie after you suddenly becomes a cost-benefit analysis in a city, where a single gunshot could end up with you burning off a lot of ammo.

And frankly, that's ammo you could use to snipe a fleeing survivor in the legs so that you can watch them get eaten by a horde of zombies. Those players? Yeah, they didn't exploit zombies properly.

This is the best god drat game ever. Raining death down upon unsupsecting pubbies in towns is amazing.

Knocking someone unconscious in the middle of a town and dropping a smoke grenade on them is surprisingly satisfying.

Looks like the DayZ website is down too, unless it's just me.
