Steve Lycett apparently answered a bunch of questions. http://www.sonicstadium.org/2012/05...t-answers-fans/ Man if Ulala doesn't get in this game I'm gonna be cheesed. She's a precious staple to these games, a fun character that really lends a lot of Dreamcast flavor. Cabbagepots fucked around with this message at May 2, 2012 around 22:34 |

Sonic & All-Stars Racing is a terrible name that's awkward to say. Sega All-Stars Racing is better. I hate you SEGA.

Well, Sonic's gotta be the first word of the name somehow. Brand recognition and all. Especially if they're billing this as this year's Sonic game.

Ahem, right, well, here's a whopping 25 seconds of new footage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIsbvGwDkMY I wonder how big this PZ track is, there seem to be a lot of segments to it. It's been said that there's less tracks in this game than there were in the previous but they're all very large and unique. I'm all for quality over quantity.

Personally, I enjoy it as someone who watches Top Gear largely for ridiculous supercars and stupid tomfoolery. It definitely borrows from modern supercars in a way that really works. Also, like the guy a few posts above, quite liking Shadow's car. I think it might actually be based on one of the G.U.N. robots from Sonic Adventure 2, I'll have to cross-reference. EDIT: Yeah, its body is close enough in design that I think it's based on what Sonic Retro tells me is the 'Rhino' series of G.U.N. robots.

Apparently the stages get thematically darker as they progress in difficulty. The Golden Axe stage is closer to the end, and has some particularly nasty bits involving a volcano spewing meteors and racing on lava. I wonder if that means there'll be stages borrowed from more mature titles like MadWorld... or Condemned. Can't wait to see the new House of the Dead stage.
