Does having animals in your house cause monsters to spawn? My brother built pens in the bottom of his house and herded animals into them, and afterwards his house would always spawn monsters at night when it didn't before.

I took someone's advice from earlier in the thread and made a massive house in the sky with a glass-encased staircase twisting up to it. By pure luck, I happened to build it at the same level as a nearby plateau (On the seed Glacier) so I extended it out with a back porch over to the plateau to create a farming area on top of a cliff. The only problem is that it's so high up, taking the awesome staircase is really time consuming. I built a ladder that runs up the cliff face for quicker climbing and that's now pretty much the only thing I use. Still, it looks cool and that's what counts!

Internet Kraken posted:That isn't really useful though after the first day. Coal is is really drat common and even with the small world I doubt you could run out of the stuff unless you're smelting every single block you can. Sometimes you want to make a massive greenhouse to encase your entire garden.
