God I fucking love Diablo 3 gold, it even paid for this shitty title

I just threw together this DH and she seems decent for MP5, Windforce + Vault lets me keep most mobs knocked pretty far back. I want a Cold SoJ with + to Rapid Fire but finding them is annoying and they are expensive.

Anyone else get that ~writing your name in snow~ feeling when using Rapid Fire Bombardment?

I like this idea. It would be great for those moments when you have not quite enough Discipline to use Shadow Power but you still need some regen. I dunno about the numbers you posted, I'm just not sure that Demon Hunters need any kind of nerf right now but that's what testing is for!

Dont legacy Nats sets give you 1D/sec? That'd be insane if you could effectively keep it on nonstop (with help from nightstalker or vengeance).

I feel like some of the runes have such lovely coefficients. Clusterbomb is insane for both life leach (with gloom of course) and nightstalker procs, but using the firebomb rapidfire skill I wasn't getting any life steal back despite doing millions of damage to large groups at a time. I really wish strafe was better, it'd be cool to be able to perma-strafe while hauling rear end even if it were on low MPs like how other classes (TR monks) can do. There doesn't really seem to be any good run and gun hatred spenders, traps are boring and everything else requires you to be standing still just holding down the button because they have initial startup costs.

Let me drop down as many stampedes as I want and gently caress the cooldown, I should be able to use them as long as I have the hatred for it. There should be an explosive damage passive or something (not just rockets) and make a turret build viable. Put +turrets allowed on SoJs, Nats chests and DMLs so you can pile up 10 of them going crazy and poo poo.

I use a Windforce + cold SoJ and it's great for crowd control. The only thing is that a cold SoJ with +rapid fire won't make much of a difference if you primarily use rapid fire since that skill has no runes that can deal the cold effect. The cold chill effect would only apply to hungering arrow in your build. You might want to save some gold by getting a RF SoJ with any other damage type.

The AoE skills that can apply cold effects:

Multishot - Full Broadside
Spike Trap - Scatter
Rain of Vengeange - <all runes>
Elemental Arrows - Nether Tentacles (oxymoron right?)
Fan of Knives - <all runes>
Strafe - Demolition (ha)

I am pretty sure I get my SOJ's cold effect with Rapid Fire. I use the rune that shoots rockets out, and while those rockets are fire damage I think the Rapid Fire itself is still physical.

Planimal is great.

Seems Web Shot and Fire Support (rockets) are physical. And no rune (but who does that?)

%damage as physical is just that. It's all damage converted to physical. You do not get a cold effect for skills that say "as physical". You only get your equipment elemental damage from skills that say %weapon damage without specifying the type.

Well poo poo, I didn't know about the "as physical" part. Thanks for the clarification.

Strafe - Demolition (ha)
I tried out the Demolition build on one of my DHs:
The Demolition DH as she is now.

I have to admit, and this is sad in a way, that Demolition is by far the best Strafe rune. With high enough crit (I'm sitting at 50%) and a reasonably low attack speed, Demolition can return the discipline cost of Punishment with the Night Stalker passive. The rest of the Strafe runes have such horrendously low coefficients that they return almost no discipline, and the damage is so godawful that you can't really use it to churn through trash or elites on low MPs.

The problem with this skill goes beyond that, though. Demolition requires specific spacing to allow the grenades to actually hit, instead of fly through. Enemies have to be about a quarter to a half of a full screen away to take a grenade to the face. With the movement speed slow while using Demolition, melee enemies get close enough to not care, and ranged enemies straight up dodge the grenades by just moving.

That's the best rune for Strafe. A lot of the hatred spenders need a revamp due to the sheer worthlessness of many of them, but Strafe has got to be the one that needs the most help.

Well idk but when I use Rapid Fire I get the little "snared" message above the heads of monsters that I hit.

I just tested this just now and it's false. Rapid Fire - Firing Support does not produce a snared message with a cold SoJ. Do you have a Templar Follower? He slows enemies that hit him and enemies that he hits.

I bought a 300 DPS lightning crossbow from the vendor for this test.

I am using a black weapon (windforce).

Edit: I just went and tested it and it isn't slowing monsters. I am like 90% sure that it was slowing them last week though.

You were using a Templar with the skill that slows enemies or you were firing off hungering arrow between RF volleys and noticing that snare. I've been using a cold SoH on my DH since November and nothing has changed over that time.

Both the Wizard and WD have zero skills that do not change the damage type.
Monks have a few.
DH and Barb have the most.

That's why DH and especially barb items with +% cold are so much more valuable.

No my templar doesn't use the slow move.

Not Stephen Harper in Disguise.

That is simply not true.

There is just no way I'm the only one that feels this way while running Bombardment!
