Vargs posted:You don't get anywhere near enough discipline for this to work, and your only AoE in a fairly AoE-focused game is entangling shot which hits a whole two targets for pitiful damage. Updated with more AOE and disc restoration/reduction. I may or may not have gone overboard with the -cost runes. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculat...YXVd!adf!aYYYcZ

Keeping in mind that I mostly play public games and try to set the pace, so I'm not waiting for people to rearrange their inventories after every pull, this is what I'm using at 56 in Hell Act 2. Bola Shot - Bitter Pill Elemental Arrow - Ball Lightning Smoke Screen - Lingering Fog Preparation - Focused Mind Marked for Death - Mortal Enemy Companion - Bat Companion --- Sharpshooter Night Stalker Archery http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculat...XVjT!TXe!YaZYYZ I have 46 discipline. The basic theme is run fast through the dungeon, pull the next pack, and smokescreen so it aggros my teammates while I ball lightning it. This has solved my initial problem in Hell where my team died several times to every blue/yellow pack; if I smokescreen only when necessary and fire preparation at the right time, I get seven smokescreens in a row. Something still isn't connecting for me, though. I only need to use Bola for disc regen on the most annoying elites, Bola is giving my highest single-target crits, and Marked for Death feels really out of place. Any suggestions?

Obscurity posted:Hungering Arrow w/ Teeth since you're running a crit build could work well. Also, I usually use Vault w/ Tumble as my 4th skill. I like being able to vault away from faster mobs. Alternatively you could use Impale w/ Grievous Wounds for any single target elite/bosses you find. If and when this crits it's 350% damage before any crit damage you have from gear. Thanks, I'll give that a shot next time I can get on bnet... take out Bitter Pill Bola Shot for Teeth Hungering Arrow, switch Night Stalker for Steady Aim, and make Mortal Enemy Marked for Death into Tumble Vault, then try replacing Tumble Vault with Grievous Wounds Impale after I level a couple more times. Then maybe buy some +crit gear or something, too. e: the stream you mentioned - was he using a hand crossbow & quiver? i haven't seen any 2h crossbows with such a low attack speed.

hobb posted:I've noticed not a lot of people seem to like caltrops and I find it almost essential to keeping guys away while I spam ball lightning at them. I'll admit its hard to fit it in a build most of the time, I usually skip prep, then find myself wishing I had it, but so far I'm at the end of act II nightmare and caltrops with the 80% slow is just way to useful to keep things away, and letting baller light fry things to actually take out. Caltrops was great until early Hell; then Smokescreen became mandatory and the tactical style didn't really allow caltrops to have much use. I started noticing that the discipline I was spending on it was keeping me from smokescreening as often as I wanted.

Seeing Eye Duck posted:Can anyone explain to me what I should have HP wise at level 54? I'm at around 29k Hp, but only 5k dps. Also, I loving. Die. all. The. Time. on Hell Act II. I had the best luck in Hell ignoring survivability and going all-out DPS. With practice and a synergistic skill setup, you'll be able to kill non-elites before they can reach you, and elites can be kited. Does anybody have any protips for a Grenadier-based build in Act 1 Inferno? I tried out Tinkerer Grenades/Loaded for Bear Cluster Shot, Smokescreen/Bait the Trap Caltrops/Valley of Death Mark/Raven, Sharpshooter/Grenadier/Archery a bit today. It's awesome the 10% of the time it actually works, but the other 90% I'm running away from things so I can't use Bait the Trap and Valley of Death. I'd also just love to have Steady Aim in this build, but I think that just can't compete with Sharpshooter and Archery (using a crossbow).
