That question does not give me insight in why Blizzard would use "has buyer/seller on friend list" as a red flag in light of anti-money laundering measures when converting blizzbux. Of course, it could be one of many red flags, but when converting a max of 250 blizzbux to dollars this way, I don't see the material ML risk.

Sure, if that account keeps being fed and emptied...

It could be very possible that a friend buys something that another friend listed on the RMAH without their knowledge.

Since their review process is a mystery, we'll never know. They probably have a whole bunch of things that flag transactions. One very well could be auctions that are bought out by a friend at 1d12h or very close to that which isn't really money laundering, but definitly a flag for cirumventing the point of blizzbucks. This is all assumption on my part.

I'd rather not take, even if it's a small risk, losing an account and an $80 transaction all for the $10 that you would save trying to flip $80 to paypal?

Crit damage 62% on the bow itself and it has a socket with a star gem, 250 vit, 887 dps crossbow.

How would that sell for? I looked for similar but I can't even find any due to the dps.

Edit: Oh hey profiles, might as well post is.

Did I lowball this? It dropped on a Butcher run and I threw it up for a 4m starting bid with no buyout, since that seemed about the right price based on a search for similar items.

But after only a few minutes up it was bid up to 4.3 with 1d11h still to go and now I'm second guessing myself. I don't play a DH but I figured the lack of native crit damage would prevent it from being very valuable despite the high dex and socket/LoH.

so after 2 weeks of gradually reducing the price on these on the RMAH by $10-20 at a time starting at I believe $185/205, they finally sold...

for $65 oh well, at least after fees I still technically beat the game by having it pay for itself. I'm really surprised they didn't go for a bit more but considering this is my first RMAH sale and it was a decent amount I'm not complaining.

The damage is a little low so I think 4m is a *decent* start price. I don't think you could get 10m for that. Maybe 7-8

You can't really do that badly as long as people are looking at it. If nobody bids again, then it probably wasn't worth 6-10m that you might be concerned about losing right now. If they do bid again, then it's going up to what it's really worth.

I listed it at about 3am NZ time, which I think means it'll be finishing up when it's about 9pm on the west coast of the US.

It's up to 5.2m now with 1d8h to go.

Is this good? The base stat rolls are bland, but the random rolls are good Vit and 50% crit damage. RMAH searches are show ones with 50% crit damage going for like $20 or more, but I am doubting it will go for that much. I'm gonna try $25 with a $10 bid and see what happens.

I just found a 759.5 DPS wand with:
+669 Life on Hit
+2.3% Life Steal
+7 Arcane Power on Crit
+14 Max Arcane Power

Searching the gold AH for 600 LoH, 2% Life Steal and any Arcane Power on Crit doesn't yield many results, and none of them are similar in DPS and stats. There's one with higher DPS and much better overall stats and a socket for 159 million which does not look like it's going to sell and there's a 700 DPS wand with slightly better stats and crit damage with a current bid above 25 million. The RMAH only has 1 similar wand and it's about 500 DPS.

I'm sure the crit damage and socket on the pricier items demand a huge premium. I'm lost as to how to price mine.

Don't limit your search to other Blackthornes (but also don't ignore them). Just the LoH/atkspd/critdam make that a nice amulet, so you can start your search there, then branch out into amulets with vit and life%. I have no idea what the RMAH amulet market is like but that would fetch a nice amount on the AH.

I've been selling crappy 50-200k stuff fairly quickly on the AH lately and all it makes me think is that I'm underpricing it and smarter people are flipping it. Either that or there is still a decent market of people entering Inferno and want decent gear for a good price.

I've had enough AH slots be wasted on 50k junk that I'd be quite pleased if I was getting gold from a patient flipper.

The belt I listed earlier put 11.8mil in my pocket, so the final price someone paid was ~13.8 million. It sat at 7.35 until less than an hour to go though.

Am I stupid in thinking this is worth anything?

Been trying to sell it for a good while now and get nothing in both the RMAH or Gold House. I think the last time I tried selling it was for like $20 in the RMAH and 7.5M to just move it and no bites.

Just checked my post and the ring dropped 2 weeks ago.

I wouldn't pay 7.5m for that. maybe 2.5-5mil.

It's good because of the 4% crit chance and crit damage. The % life is pretty nice and so is the resist all. I just think a lot of people would be hard pressed to spend 7.5m on something without LoH or +stat.

It probably also doesn't show up on most peoples searches

Reasonable rolls and should fetch a decent price. Lots of non-crit bracers sell, but anyone shopping for really high-end gear already searches for crit chance, so your market is extremely limited

Awesome job on the sale! I spent ~15M on a crossbow with DPS like that, had no LoH but had 250 dex and 90 vit with 2.7% life steal with a socket on a buyout at 1d11h. There was NOTHING around that price at all as everything had buyouts with less dex in the 30-40M range.

Yeah I never really thought of this... 6 property weapons are going to be great weapons to craft.

I'm kind of for and against this weapon change. It is effectively, but not exactly, trippling weapon drops.

Add this to champ nerf and everyone should be getting good weapons and beating the game.

In the plus side it makes 61 and 62 weapons worthwhile.

I still thought inferno was going to be 63 mobs but you could only get 61 gear. Having iLvL 63 gear is just as much as increasing the level cap to 63.

Wario In Real Life
Nov 9, 2009

Ehh not really. Enemy level and item level have nothing to do with eachother. Enemy level and player level are directly related in that enemies that are higher level than you do exponentially higher damage.

Clearing the game at player level 63 with all 60 level items would be incredibly easier than beating the game at player level 60 with level 63 items.

Billy Elliot

Yeah but you can clear 63 content with either mid rolled 63 items or likely nearer to perfect stat 61s.

I just think for all the complaints about no end game. If only 61s were dropping, inferno would be all about min/max of that gear.

When you get min/max 63 gear you are God like in inferno, which I thought was the opposite point of inferno, at least my take on it.

Like if you wanted to play God, go to act 3 and 4 hell. You could still get 61 drops. Or you could actually challenge yourself in inferno. With each difficulty ramping up like it does now.

Being God implies that you are powerful, not that you are killing weak mobs. Playing Hell is one of the most boring experiences in the game, because the challenge is gone by that point, and yet it's the third time through and the drops are garbage. Inferno isn't a challenge. It's either doable or impossible, and luck is a huge factor in that. There are only a handful of people in the world who are God on Inferno, and that world is mostly closed off completely to new players because the value of gold is so low. Even if you hit the 1 billion jackpot somehow, you probably wouldn't be able to buy a full set of God gear at this point.

Just so we're clear, by godly I don't mean "able to farm Act 3", I mean like "able to kill Siegebreaker in 6 seconds and never die to any pack, regardless of what it is". The last time I had 20 million gold (which was about a month ago), I searched high and low for a good item to buy, and I didn't find any significant upgrades to any of the gear I already had except maybe a chest with higher mainstat or something.
