If our goal is to get more people roped into the asylum that is the Touhou fandom then a wide release anime regardless of its origins can only ultimately be beneficial even if there's some hiccups and growing pains along the way.

When was this ever anyone's goal?

The main problem with a Touhou anime is that it really doesn't map to animation all that well. Danmaku kind of looks silly outside of the games, and the actual rules are still kind of fuzzy (are you supposed to just get hit once? or until you can't sustain the spell anymore? The former applies to the player character, the latter to bosses). The Memories of Phantasm anime skipped a ton of the fights for that reason, and the one they did show was really quick.

Also, the last thing we all need is an argument over which stereotypical anime voice fits each Touhou.

Like I said though, I'm worried that if an anime comes along they WON'T ignore that, it will become the new standard, complete with voice acting and mannerisms and everything and it will make touhou fan stuff more uniform and boring.

However Raenir Salazar's argument is plenty compelling, there is probably very little risk of that. It's all academic anyway though since it isn't our IP, and Zun's weird obsessions about things like that are what make people like his stuff so much.

If the MMDs, doujinshi, other PV anime, IOSYS's poo poo and whatnot didn't force a watered down version of Touhou, Memories of Phantasm won't. Hell, people don't even pay attention to ZUM's "canon" 90 percent of the time.

Your fears are selfish and irrational; a proper Touhou anime would end up in the same umbrella as everything else. And (the good) superhero movies cut out decades of sperg and weird, myopic supplemental material; getting to a purer essence of the character. A good trade run does the same thing; comics have ghettoized themselves to stupid nerd bullshit for not making a standard outside of placating weirdos. poo poo, you said yourself that your wishes were selfish. Selfish fans kill fandoms; look at Fallout or god forbid, Pony fans.

And I thought people liked ZUN's stuff because it was interesting and quirky, not because he's really traditional about things.

I think that the things about Zun that make his stuff interesting and quirky are the same things that make him reject anime. Also I don't get the fallout or mlp things at all, for the first I didn't even know it had a creative fan community, for the second it is a toy line owned by Hasbro, what could possibly be more commercial than that?

This isn't a question of being commercial, it's a question of entitlement; Fallout fans and Bronies think they own the particular property and are the only people that should be catered to. In not wanting an anime fanwork because you (selfishly) believe that it will "water down" the fan community, you are using similar lines of reasoning as people who think any Fallout past 2 is garbage because it's not turn-based isometric or Brony fucks who think that the show shouldn't be marketed to girls, but to smelly college age nerds. I don't think you mean to do this, since you don't know what those fandoms entail, but that's how you're coming off. Well, that, and you're using the hipster/idiot punk "I don't want my ~*underground*~ thing to sell out" rhetoric.

ZUN is way too anime himself to reject anime; he seems to not want a TV anime for the same reason he doesn't want to sell to America: because .

Yeah, you're right, I don't know anything about those other communities, Touhou is the only thing like this I have ever embraced before in my life, basically. And I guess I sound like an indie hipster idiot on this topic mostly because I just got completely burned out on anime several years ago and nothing anyone shows me of it now makes me want back in. I'm not like that about anything else, I have no problems with bands going mainstream or quirky books being adapted into movies, or old games being adapted into modern ones (unless they suck), it's just anime. So yeah, like I said my reasons are mostly selfish.

edit: its probably pretty silly of me to be posting in a thread in adtrw about how I don't like anime. Forget I said anything, it's just my personal issues with modern anime.

They're still pretty funny even if you can't read them.

If you're going to post them to Danbooru, you're probably best off editing all of the images from a post into one really tall image, I think. But even then it won't be as good as on Pixiv, since you'll see the next image too soon.

Well, there's three things to worry about in this case:
-Danbooru has a certain quality standard where they refuse and delete submissions that don't really meet them. Stuff that is too sketchy, scribbled, etc...
-You can't upload pictures from your own computer, but directly from other places.
-When uploading from Pixiv, you have to use one very specific url for the image, and not the one for, say, the manga viewer or a zoomed in image.

Hey Samurai Sanders, could you please translate some of the new Skills/Abilities in FMW2? Here's a bunch of stuff I can't figure out at all through comparison with FMW1. The stuff highlighted in red are the names of the skills.

This one has something to do with Power (aka Will) but that's all I can figure out.

Something to do with damage?

I know what this one does (Critical +20%, Hit rate -10%), but I'm curious about the name.

This one is basically a No Skill option, but the PP in the description has me curious to if there's any other effect.

No clue for these.

There's more, but that's all that I'm curious about right now.

気分高場, at the beginning of ever allied turn, power +3

距離補正無視, damage and aim do not decrease, starts at range >6

勘, intuition.

To re-learn the skill costs no PP.

支援攻撃, support attacks are guaranteed critical (same as in SRW)

嘘避け, a certain chance of 100% dodge, determined by LOW technique level (技量) and skill level (of this skill I assume)

起死回生, if hp, mp and sp all go below 10%, they are all refilled just once

I believe the posting was quickly buried under other discussion - I shall attempt to get a more complete Alpha out soon as well, though.

It is unusual that the game would not work on your machine - I have tested it on several others PCs including friends' without issue (not to mention that, being XNA/NET, it should be natively compatible). Do you have any other PCs you could try running it on?

Ed: Additionally, do you happen to have MSN or Gmail? It would be easier to coordinate a possible solution given more rapid communication.

"Wife bonuses go up to level 5, with each level granting a +5 in maximum Power and a +1 upgrade in all stats (including weapons)"
Apparently you get refunded PP from any skills that didn't carry over between games or got changed too much, because they do different things now despite having the same names as before...
