![]() Facebook group for goons: https://www.facebook.com/groups/514104821949975/ What is it? Half comic books, half Pokemon, totally way more fun and engrossing than it should be Facebook game. What do you do? A new element-thing has been discovered! It's called ISO-8 and it can do anything! The bad guys are mobilizing and it's up to SHIELD's newest recruit, you, to round up a team of heroes and take them down! Go on... You start with 60 points of energy that replenish over time. You spend these points to go on missions. Once there you come into conflict with some bad guys, usually just some scrub minions at first, but you'll notice that everyone has a little symbol by their name. These are the classes of the characters. Each one interacts with another to either an advantage or disadvantage in a sort of five way paper-rock scissors style. ![]() The classes Blaster - Strong against bruisers. They automatically crit. Weak against tacticians Bruiser - Strong against scrappers. They get an ANGRY buff whenever they attack or are attacked by a scrapper. Weak against blasters Infiltrator - Strong against tacticians. They counterattack for a full round after hitting a tactician. Weak against scrappers Scrappers - Strong against infiltrators. They follow up whichever attack they used with another attack regardless of stamina or status effects. Weak against bruisers. Tacticians - Strong against blasters. When attacking a blaster they gain an immediate follow up turn. Weak against Infiltrators. Generalists - No weaknesses or strengths. This is what you start out as, though you have the option to swap that out later for any of the other classes. Then what happens? Then you fight some real proper villains. ![]() Is that all? Goodness, no! You can also send your team off on remote ops to earn some spare cash and XP, research new technologies for weapons, go PVP someone with a dumb name like Agent Wulfdream, or go on super secret black ops mission events like the one that's going on RIGHT NOW to recruit Ghost Rider. Bottom line it for me, why should I play this? Superhero pokemon with resource management and it's a facebook game where you don't HAVE to spend money to see the whole thing. If you're in this forum then this game is of interest to you. FAQ Q: Help! I need more energy/SHIELD points/PVP points/ distress calls! A: Make friends! Post your facebook name in this thread then accept any alliance requests that come your way. Whenever you run low on anything you can get a small boost by visiting your allies. Q: ARGH! GHOST RIDER! ARGH! A: The current Spec Ops mission is to recruit Johnny Blaze aka the Ghost Rider. This time around it's based on how many tasks you complete rather than how many missions you five-star. For an in-depth list of what you need to do check out this: http://forum.playdom.com/showthread...131#post1320131 Q: Getting command points is haaaaaard. A: It just got harder. Your best bet at this point is to five star as many missions as you can (all of them) and hope for the best on boss roulette. There are plenty of strategies over at the playdom forums for maximizing your chances for command points. Q: I hate the gift limit! A: You can request resources from your allies and/or send them stuff using the gift system in-game. You can do this as often as you want but you can only accept fifty gifts a day. The three most important gifts are Energy, SHIELD points and rare ISO-8. The first gets put into a bank you can access when you're low, the second is a currency in the game that is difficult to come by. Currently ISO-8 can also be gifted which is used to participating in those super special missions I spoke about earlier. Here is the game: http://www.facebook.com/avengersalliance Her are the forums with PILES of good info and guides: http://forum.playdom.com/forumdispl...iance-%28MAA%29 And here's the facebook Goon group!: https://www.facebook.com/groups/514104821949975/ I will muck about with this as I remember stuff. Tip for using 90 Command Points: Wolverine's good if you like causing bleed, but of all the 90 CP characters, get him last unless you want him for the premium mission or epic boss fight he unlocks. I wish I'd gotten Cap instead and just gotten Sif or Luke Cage as backup Scrappers.

Hulk is a monster when played correctly. Captain America ain't poo poo. He's fine, but not for 90 points. He's probably the weakest 90 point player. Spider-Man is awesome. Some of the cheap characters are surprisingly good. Kitty Pryde is crazy. She Hulk is excellent for the points. Ms. Marvel is great at level 2 but her level 6 is worthless until you get to level 9. Phoenix is really annoying if played correctly. I have about 1500 points in PVP but I rarely see a challenge.

After level 9, when she gets an attack that doesn't break phase, Kitty Pryde is nigh invincible; she's hardly ever vulnerable to attacks. She won't protect the rest of your team like Cap will, though; the Protect item helps, but area attacks still get through.

Level 9 She-Hulk (Stomp unlocked) paired with level 6 Hawkeye (Trick Shot unlocked) is a pretty mean combo, since She-Hulk can do Stomp as many times as she likes and she does extra damage, alternately with her Motion Granite and Hawkeye's Trick Shot you can potentially keep at least one enemy stunned every round if you stagger their usage.quote:Captain America is nice but not amazing until level 9. After level 9, he's probably the best character in the game; he causes the entire enemy team to beat themselves to death on his shield while the rest of your team picks them off at your leasure. Also, fun "bug" for PVP - if you've got an Avenger costume on the field and the enemy team has two, both you AND your opponent will end up getting Cooperative Defense because I guess the game has problems differentiating between the two teams when assigning that bonus. I've won more than a few rounds lately because my opponent had Cooperative Defense and my Avengers Black Widow got to benefit from it and it saved my rear end. In addition to unlocking the Elektra mission she's also just drat god at the early levels. Her claw attack has a very good chance of critting.

I just want to reiterate that you do not need to spend money to play this game. I know all the Facebook games claim this but you can quickly accumulate command points without even exploiting the Elektra command point glitch just through normal play. Leveling up and 4 staring a mission also give you gold that you can either spend on more command points or save up for item. For a good mid priced character, pick up Dr Strange. At level 2 he gets a group heal that last a few round and at level 6 he gets an AoE DoT spell.

Another thing to add about getting command points- you get more points from boss fights. You also get more points towards stars if more of your fights are boss fights. Therefore, if you're looking to get command points quickly, follow the same strategy you have under Mockingbird- only do red fights until you can get to boss fights, and preferably fight the boss and any mini-bosses in one fight. This maximizes the number of command points you get per fight and the points per fight, bringing you close the the gold for 4 stars and the 5 command points for 5 stars.

Pair him up with Avengers costume Hulk and everything dies because you've buffed Hulk to hell and back.

I don't have Cap so I can't say what happens, but how does the game pick who goes first in PVP if both players field a Cap? Flip a coin? For that matter, is there any rhyme or reason to the hero turn order in combat, PVP or otherwise? I mean I've gotten hosed a few times in PVP if I'm fielding She-Hulk and Hawkeye - my stun-stomp strategy I mentioned doesn't work if She-Hulk and Hawkeye go back to back in that order, because Hawkeye can stun someone and by the time She-Hulk's turn comes back around they're not stunned anymore (and can't be stunned by her Motion Granite due to recovery immunity).

It's a little late in the game to just be coming up with a strategy so this may not be of much use to anyone at this point, but here's my recommendation for what to star and when for Mockingbird: -Play through SO1 once as fast as possible (use the abort then restart technique mentioned above until you start with a High Threat mission. HTx3 then both bosses is the way to go) -Play through SO2 as fast as possible up until the miniboss. IF you have either level 9 Cap OR an Iron Man costume other than Blaster go ahead and tackle both bosses together. If not, take out the mini boss then be really careful against Thunderball (I put a ton of evasion ISO on my Iron Man for this fight). -If you need time to buy a different Iron Man suit or level up your Cap to 9, then you're going to want to go ahead and grind out 5 stars on SO3 to try and give yourself time to do that before going back to SO2. Obviously this isn't possible for everyone but if you can, using level 9 Cap is the way to go (Tactician Iron Man isn't that great, definitely not worth buying the alt costume unless you're a completionist). -Once you're done with SO2 and SO3 (5 stars on each) THEN go back to SO1. Now that you'll be able to gauge your remaining time better you can try for the Epic boss in that mission (requires Spider-Woman and I think maybe one other hero as well for deploys). I don't really care about the epic so I 5 starred SO1 and have now moved on to 3 while my Cap is still training. Fake edit to add some more poo poo: Gonna throw out my impressions on the 90 CP heroes. Spider-Man was my first buy (had no really strong infiltrator at that point and he also unlocked a premium mission and epic boss so seemed like a good pick). His abilities are pretty good, particularly his level 2 (a buff to evasion) since it works so well with his natural ability to intercept a lot of attacks (he can even intercept a multi-target attack). His basic ability isn't strong but it's super cheap and adds an attack debuff to the enemy. His level 3 will remove that debuff but give you a pretty solid damage boost if the enemy was afflicted with it. His level 4 is relatively unremarkable but the stun can be useful. It's also worth noting that Spider-Man can get free extra turns if he fails to protect an ally from an attack. Next up was Hulk. Hulk is the most immediately useful of any of the 90 point heroes I think. Being hit or using his level 1 will give him a charge of "Hulk Up." When you use any of his other attacks (a big damage single target lvl 2, a group debuff level 6 or the GROUP STUN level 9) he will automatically consume a charge to increase the damage. Using a Hulk Up while Enraged x2 on a single target was the first time I saw really huge damage in this game. If he gets to do a bonus attack from the Avengers costume bonus or a gadget buff or whatever it'll be his basic attack that grants the Hulk Up. I bought Wolverine third. He's ok but not worth it compared to any of the other 90 CP characters. He has really low stamina and his damage output is lower than what I'd expect for a scrapper. He relies on bleed and ravage for damage over time but Thor, Hulk, or even Cap can do the same amount of damage faster without having to play the guessing game on whether or not you did enough bleed to take them out. His level 9 is a healing buff that gives him huge regen and removes some status effects but it's a waste of a turn when what you really want to be doing is dealing damage instead of just staying alive. Thor is really solid. His level 2 attack hits the enemy for OK damage and gives him a charge (you can store 2 at a time). Doing his level 1 or 9 uses up all charges you have to increase your damage a ton. Thor can one shot entire groups this way. His level 6 gives everyone a 25% attack buff while also giving himself one of the attack charges. Better than Hulk if you have a way to reliably give yourself extra turns (buy Quantum Jumper with gold, get Magnetic Field Generator from Epic Magneto). Got Cap last. His first turn buff is really helpful, particularly if you use him with another buffing character. I put a decent amount of attack up on him so he can usually take out a non-boss blaster before anyone else gets to make a move, even on missions that are level scaled. I haven't gotten him to level 9 yet but it sounds like his level 9 move will make Spidey basically obsolete by providing pretty much the same function but with more damage done. Right now I'm using Cap and Thor together whenever I can. I saved up my gold to buy a Quantum Jumper (a gadget that gives everyone on your a team an immediate extra turn) and I also have Magnetic Field Generator (gives you a shield on all your guys that when depleted grants an extra turn). Since I have the ability to get so many extra turns they synergize really well by buffing each other and destroying the poo poo out of everything. Finally, to answer a question I saw posted in the old thread HOW TO REMOVE AN ALLY. Go to the Allies tab on the top menu bar (the one with play, gold, messages, etc). It will ask you who you want to invite to be your ally, but if you scroll down it will show your allies and there is a small Remove Ally link you can press. The Special missions are legitimately hard, I like that. Of course now that I have level 9 Cap with my level 11 Hulk, they're not so tough. Fumaofthelake posted:
Thanks! Your 90 point recap is spot on. Level 9 Captain America makes Spidey obsolete. I bought the Bruiser Avengers costume so my Cap can do some crazy damage when there are scrappers on the field. I think pairing up Cap and Doc Strange, with his level 2 heal, will make a pretty tough team, if you need time to save up for Hulk or Thor.

I've been focusing on SpecOp 3 attempting to get Wrecker's Crowbar and the fights actually aren't that difficult anymore. I've got the strategy down, so I tend to maybe need to just recharge my stamina with boost packs so I don't lose out on mastery for resting. Plus, if I use enough items, I get the Quartermaster bonus. If they still had that 50 FB credits for $1 offer I think I'd do it. I was going to, but it's gone now. I guess I won't get Cap in time for him to be useful enough. I typically use War Machine and Hulk, though using level 7 Wolverine with my Agent as a Blaster makes the Mockingbird fight a walk in the park.

They automatically scale to your level, so they're worth more XP than normal missions (unless you've managed to unlock missions higher than your level, of course). This means more XP for Cap and more XP for you, and leveling more often means you get free energy recharges more often so even more XP. If you do it on Premium missions, you generally get a shot at cool gear, too.

Hulk is so good without the costume I wouldn't make it a priority if you want to buy Cap instead.
