Level 9 She-Hulk (Stomp unlocked) paired with level 6 Hawkeye (Trick Shot unlocked) is a pretty mean combo, since She-Hulk can do Stomp as many times as she likes and she does extra damage, alternately with her Motion Granite and Hawkeye's Trick Shot you can potentially keep at least one enemy stunned every round if you stagger their usage.

quote:

Captain America is nice but not amazing until level 9. After level 9, he's probably the best character in the game; he causes the entire enemy team to beat themselves to death on his shield while the rest of your team picks them off at your leasure.
When I see an enemy player deploy that Shield thing in PVP I just have my team take a break and recharge stamina for the next turn. I pretty much always treat Cap as a priority target (and have been fielding Avengers Black Widow because of it).

Also, fun "bug" for PVP - if you've got an Avenger costume on the field and the enemy team has two, both you AND your opponent will end up getting Cooperative Defense because I guess the game has problems differentiating between the two teams when assigning that bonus. I've won more than a few rounds lately because my opponent had Cooperative Defense and my Avengers Black Widow got to benefit from it and it saved my rear end.

I don't have Cap so I can't say what happens, but how does the game pick who goes first in PVP if both players field a Cap? Flip a coin?

For that matter, is there any rhyme or reason to the hero turn order in combat, PVP or otherwise? I mean I've gotten hosed a few times in PVP if I'm fielding She-Hulk and Hawkeye - my stun-stomp strategy I mentioned doesn't work if She-Hulk and Hawkeye go back to back in that order, because Hawkeye can stun someone and by the time She-Hulk's turn comes back around they're not stunned anymore (and can't be stunned by her Motion Granite due to recovery immunity).

I've been rocking a Generalist suit for a while now (whichever one has 4 ISO slots). I figure it's better to let my heroes be specialists, and I can fill in the gaps wherever without potentially being a liability if the wrong opponent type turns up. It's served me pretty well in PVP - I haven't encountered any specialist agents in PVP who were really game-changers with their class, but I've stomped the poo poo out of a bunch of specialists by using my heroes to counter them.

You have to go to the dev's website to do it. http://www.playdom.com then create a login (this can be whatever and doesn't have to be related to your Facebook name or anything). Then once you're logged in go to their homepage, click Support in the top menu, then scroll down and on the bottom right of the page there will be a Submit Ticket link.

I think it might be purposely obtuse.
Hmm, so if I've got a login for their forum, is that sufficient? Or is the login for their site separate from that, too? Thanks!

This game is oddly fascinating. I added a buncha people on facebook. /kevin.cavallaro is my facebook page. Everybody else has little nicknames for theirs. I need Shield points really bad, how do I get 'em?
Have Allies (right now you've got at least one: Tony Stark). Once you do that, there's a few ways to get them from Allies:

1. give Shield points as Gifts, which prompts your allies to "return the favor" and give one back. You can accept up to 50 gifts a day, and you can pick which ones you want to accept. I was banking Shield points and Energy points and I've got a huge surplus, now I'm banking Unstable ISO-8s for the Spec Ops missions.

2. click the + button next to the Shield point counter on your HUD in the upper-right, which prompts you to request Shield points from your allies

3. Visit your Allies on their maps (click their name in the Allies bar at the bottom, select Visit) and click on their stuff. You'll get +3 Shield points per ally per day this way.

Being low on Shield points is a serious game-crippler when you're first starting out, but if you've got a reasonable number of allies then you'll have a constant stream of them. I've got 600+ Shield points right now.

I research all the ISO-8 shard types, and lately I've researched some of the healing-related stuff (and bought Curative Reach, that's a huge game-changer and amazingly useful).

Lately almost all of my money has been getting funneled into keeping my characters in training - She-Hulk just hit level 11 (200,000 silver ).

This gets better when you get allies, so accept friend requests and add everyone you can. You can request energy and shield points as gifts with the + signs next to each, I know I always fulfill any requests I see in my inbox.

Straight type 3 chaotics give you the best all around stats. You can definitely focus on one thing or another to bring that up for a given character- I boost Hulk's accuracy (because it's really low at base) and Cap's evasion (to make it even harder to hit him when he's doing Shield Block) more than others, for instance.

You'll unlock your last plane slot at 55 and be able to upgrade to Blackbirds at 65. There's apparently another ship upgrade at 100, but I'm not there yet. Upgrading to Blackbirds is 25000 each... I think I worked out that it would take at least 5 days to get a return on my investment.
When do you get access to the "shards"? Like, I know at first you get ISO "chips", then "fragments", then "shards". Right now fragments are the only thing available to me.

Also does anyone know when/how to get the next Generalist suit? Like my research queue is chock-full of stuff I can research to get higher-tier specialist suits, but I'm wondering about the next Generalist one.

Edit-- also for those running low on energy/Shield points/whatever, remember that you can request gifts from allies multiple times, so by all means spam that "request gift" button and I'll gift them to you. Just remember that you can only accept 50 gifts a day.

Don't spend gold on weapons either, they'll just become obsolete as you level up and unlock other gold-only weapons. Literally the only thing I spend gold on is Command Points.

Edit-- having said that I've gotten my rear end kicked by the Heavy Ion Beam (a gold-only weapon) in PVP pretty consistently. I'd love to get one, but I'm 100% sure they're going to nerf it at some point because it's so broken, and as mentioned it'll just become obsolete as I level up.

Hawkeye has his uses. His "trick shot" is pretty cool because it stuns stuff (especially useful if you're targeting Blasters) and his level 9 Precision Aim ability is pretty slick, too. Target an enemy and for 4 turns every single-target attack against them by any hero is a guaranteed hit, and any attacks by Hawkeye are a guaranteed critical.

He is, but due to wacky licensing bullshit Marvel can't use Spider-Man in Marvel movies (like Iron Man or the Avengers or whatever) for the foreseeable future because Sony owns the rights to using the character in movies. I've been buying heroes literally from cheapest to most expensive (except for Cap who I just got because of everyone raving about him) and I got myself up to like level 40 without any issues whatsoever. Also I just fought someone in PVP who had +21000 attack and +12000 defense. That's not a typo. TWENTY ONE THOUSAND and TWELVE THOUSAND.
