Presumably not under his own name. New York requires a valid law degree to sit for the bar.

In reality he'd fail character and fitness for fraudulently practicing to begin with so it's kind of silly to hypo that he could just vanish for five or six years, get his degrees in order, and start practicing again. Then again, it's television.

He passed the bar for someone else, using their name. Under his own name he hasn't even taken the test.

In most states, you have to have a Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited school, or a JD from a domestic non accredited (or foreign) law school plus extra experience. It varies from state to state, but these days it's very difficult to sit for the bar if you haven't graduated from law school.

Wow! Love that ending. Aside from not seeing that coming that was the perfect thing to do. I can't think of better way. This season looks awesome!

What would happen to all the cases Mike did work on if they found out he didn't have a law degree?

This is what I was talking about,an undergrad degree, big momma said that she checked and he graduated from Harvard law, but not from any college. So I would assume Mike having an undergraduate degree with be a temporary fix.

So I ended up looking through a bunch of pictures on IMDB after going to check on something, and apparently Margo Martindale (Mags Bennett from Justified) is going to be in the third episode this season. Can't loving wait.

He passed under his own name actually.

I imagine they would just handwave the problem of him not having attended law school away.

BOGGLE?

The only potential problem with the scenes writing Trevor and Jenny out is that the whole thing has happened before in the first season. Remember when Mike put Trevor on a bus to Montana? That seemed like it was getting rid of him but he popped up again like a bad rash. Maybe with the renewed focus on Pearson Hardman business we might finally be rid of them but I'm just not sure.

I think the only context where I can accept Trevor coming back is Mike just loving with his life in his spare time, even if only as a background gag. What a worthless character.

Episode needed more Donna. But goddamn, they seriously get some gorgeous women on this show.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of this show (though part of that may be that I'm taking the Bar in July and it paints a very depressing picture of the stresses and retarded gamesmanship of what working at a law firm is like) but this was a very good episode.

The only thing that pissed me off is the faux-relationship drama crap. OH, BOTH HIS LOVE INTERESTS NOW HATE HIM FOR THE SAME-BUT-OPPOSITE REASON, AND ARE UNWILLING TO BE EVEN SLIGHTLY REASONABLE OR HEAR HIS SIDE OF THE STORY ABOUT ANY OF IT, OH THE TRAGEDY!

I normally love ridiculous relationship drama, I have gigantic blinders for that kind of thing. But this was just groan inducing pointless pathos.

As soon as I saw this guy I was waiting for someone to show up and shoot him in the face. I just don't understand this casting choice. Giancarlo Esposito ends up on some fairy tale show as a Genie and Hector ends up as some homosexual fashion designer on Fairly Legal. But Gale ends up as the badass antagonist of Suits Season 2???? It's not even his stature or anything since Louis manages to be intimidating (at least at first). It's just a bad casting choice.

Same here. He's that really creepy, insidious kind of villain to me. The kindly seeming, quiet kind that ends up being more of a psycho than an outright visible psycho.

I'm already hooked on this season and they never even have to take the drama out of the office.

Still a multi-year commitment. I imagine Harvard Law like to think of themselves as a pretty tough program and wouldn't just let him take online classes for his degree. And it's not like he could just talk to the professors and get credit for classes without actually going through them. The most you can do to get a normal degree faster is petition the school to let you take a shitload of classes, but like I said I doubt Harvard Law would let some random student do that.

I'm pretty sure the senior partners of a wildly successful firm made up entirely of Harvard Grads would be able to ask the school to just give Mike all the assignments and exams required and he'd have them back to them in a week or two.
