Got this a week or so ago and yeah this game's pretty loving rad. Looks incredibly wonky and loose in so many ways and yet after 100 levels I still want to keep playing. I'm wondering though how the christ do people get these huge amount of rift crystals? In all the hours I've played I've only amassed somewhere around 12k, is it just a lot of lending your pawn out to people and having them rate it and poo poo like that?

That's pretty much it, if you have a DD save imported into DA you start with a 100k bonus. You can find RC crystals of up to 10k value (very rare) in BBI as loot from chests and enemies. The pawn guild badge quests also award you RC and since you don't lose them you can just pop them into your inventory in NG+ and get the rewards again. Mostly RC comes from rentals though, the first time you get 1m+ RC from rentals is a sweet, sweet thing.

What do I need to do to make sure I don't get locked out of the Selene quests again? It's been such a long time, I can't remember. If it's just do her escort quest then I'm sorted. I've been trying to drag the main quest out a bit, I'm only on the first stage of the wyrm hunt quests and I'm nearly level 40 (I've been neglecting the game lately, curse you 90s RPGs stealing all my time.) Ohhh you mean where she gets lost in the woods and you meet Selene? Yeah I did that aaages ago. TehGherkin fucked around with this message at May 25, 2013 around 01:28 |

Do the quest with Quina before leaving for Gran Soren (the cutoff point might actually be later but I don't remember) and do Witch Hunt when you first hear about it. That's it. Escort quests don't interact with non-noticeboard quests at all.

Yep, I missed out on Selene's later questline because I ignored Quina right at the start. A shame, since the second part of the Witchwood seems to have a lot of useful ingredients etc.

Any advice for killing the dragons in BBI? Particularly when there's two of them at once. The only thing that I've found works at all is being a dagger class with adhesion, jumping on their torso, and trying to maneuver to their heart for hundred kisses spam in a really awkward and frustrating way, hoping I don't get hosed before I can kill them. This works really well when the controls and camera don't spaz out too much, and I don't get hit by a meteor or something. They die quite quickly and the one I'm attacking gets stunlocked the whole time, even if it's one of the durable fire ones. Anything else, though? Ugh. Pawns are 100% useless and do literally nothing. Doesn't feel like I can do much on my sorc, since the charge shot doesn't go for their heart and against a lot of them there's no time to stand still and cast spells (which aren't effective anyways, unless I get an incredibly well placed maelstrom). My magick archer has similar issues, where my shots won't go for their heart and unlike my assassin I'm not completely specced out for dagger stab climbing with gloves of might, adhesion, opportunism, arm strength, very high stamina, and fully upgraded versions of the best daggers in the game. Stacking four Conqueror's Periapts multiplies your attack power by over five times. Fournival sells an unlimited amount of them. The couple of encounters where you can get two at a time though are really dicey. I just run away if I get two Firedrakes.

I have trained my pawn well in dealing with dragons. I gave him the two secret augs to deal more damage while climbing on a monster and makes it harder to shake him off. He grabs on and butchers the poo poo out of their hearts and they can't do a drat thing about it. Even gets cyclops helmets off himself and then shoots the eye. Dudes a beast. Always Rent Tarrant.

Before I ultimately write this game off completely I do have one important question, it relates to BBI. Is BBI standard? Like in the sense that it doesn't get harder when you go the new game+ route? And what exactly does class have to do with stats, I keep hearing people saying warrior or fighter get more HP or something along those lines. I'm not interested in min-maxing but I'd like to know how to not gimp myself somehow. The affinity stuff, is there a way to see it? Can I control it somehow? I recall a goon saying not to talk to anyone till you got the Arisen's something, bond or whatever, that seems a bit extreme, on that note, what is the arisens bond? And finally, is there some sort of source related to the billboard sidequests? I had like 30 by the end of the game but I just couldn't figure out how to complete them, they wanted a specific item but well, I don't know what the hell drops it.

If I remember right he was giving a quarter-million exp per kill, enough to give me a level each time for the first 2 kills. If the offline one gives the same exp, and you managed to kill him a bunch of times starting at level 50 or so, I could see getting several levels per kill.

Get a rusted bow and dragonforge it so you can torpor the poo poo out of everything. Torpor is incredibly good and it almost feels like cheating.

Just hit level 61, mainly been Red and Yellow classes. Just got done with the Chimera/Gorechimera/wight fight in Everfall. That was fun as hell! Kept getting blinded, kept getting meteors falling from the sky, every time I managed to cling to a chimera the other would knock me off, fireballs all over the place. Didn't die, though the pawns all did.

I only use it for the torpor and utility since it makes going for weakpoints as a strider/assassin that much easier. It's also really funny seeing an enemy fly into the air and fall down in slow motion while you're climbing on it.

They are normal level 1 skill rings with one skill in them, which you can easily find in BBI, and the extra item is a normal one-use Liftstone (although for some reason it apparently has a different name "Liftstone (DLC)".

DD has a bunch of features that feel like a mobile game - the asynchronous multiplayer that ncorages sharing your name and the currency you can buy with real money. I hope they don't go further in that direction.
