Are the Badge of Vows useful for anything, or can I sell them?

After an intense and drawn-out battle, I killed my first drake today. I was hoping to get some Dragon Forged gear, and I ended up having my bow, pants, and neck wrap upgrade. Nothing on my pawn upgraded. Oh well.

If you hadn't taken me off your friendlist you could have used my pawn to farm dragon kills as that's what I beat into her face to do.

Looks like they had some kind of press event too. I can't be for cetain, but it looks like they're having some beta event on 4/20 - 4/28 on the PS3? http://www.4gamer.net/games/289/G028968/20150404004/

Still holding out hope that Warriors make a comeback. They originally only showed four classes, and now they've unveiled Seekers and Sorcerers. The original game launched with nine.

So, I picked up the original DD when it came out, played it for a bit, then set it aside for a few years. Now I want to get back into it, but apparently what class you have when you level matters? I'm paranoid about screwing myself over. I'm only level 18 on my new run so far, so it shouldn't matter too much at this point, but still. I keep getting tempted to try different classes, and I know that if I do it could mess me up.

You really don't need to worry about it. Trying out different classes whenever you feel like it is way more fun than letting stat growth dictate how you play, and having sub-optimal stats isn't even going to be noticeable until you know the game like the back of your hand. Just do what sounds fun and don't worry about numbers that aren't attached to weapons and armor. Also mystic knight starts out super boring but gets awesome at higher ranks, so don't get too discouraged if you try it out and think it sucks at first.

Its really not a big deal. Assassin gives you the most strength, sorcerer gives the most magick attack. If you play 150+ levels as an assassin you will have pretty terrible damage if you suddenly decide become a magic class or vice versa. But don't feel pigeon holed in, especially at such a low level. If you play every class to the max proffesion level you won't feel any real effects at high levels. Its actually beneficial to get augments from other classes. For example if you decide to go mage you will probably want the skill acuity from the sorcerer path since just increase your magick by 20%.

Last time I played DD I was pure assassin and spent a good amount of it wishing I was a magic archer. So much so that if I didn't already have Bloodborne and Pillars of Eternity to think about, I'd be firing Dragon's Dogma up again right now

I will say Magic Archer made the final fight trivial though, which made the ending somewhat less climactic. Rest of the game though, owned bowns. Especially the giant light at night.

Just about to come back to the game after being away for a long time and could use some help making sure I'm building a proper character and tank pawn for BBI. Would anyone mind offering some input on this? Main character will ultimately be a MK with this build and stats for a 600/600 split on magic and regular attack: http://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#as000000000009005100000000000063000100 While tank pawn will be following this to add in some mdef (I've read that 300 is a good benchmark for BBI): http://stackoverflow.github.io/dragons-dogma-stat-planner/#af320000000028000000320000320000000000

Might want to split the str/mag growth already before lvl 101, overall the BBI weapons buff your stats so massively that unequipped stats don't matter too much.

That's always been my problem with builds that change class at 200. Once you hit that number you've probably finished the game two or three times over. I'm at NG+++ and have killed Daimon 2.0 a half dozen times but am only ~170. Couldn't imagine grinding out levels that long as a class I had no interest in playing.

I've tweaked the builds a bit since I made that post (see below) - what stats should I be aiming at to be able to finish normal mode BBI without some huge grinding? I always play till I've maxed out whatever vocations lead up to the hybrid class I'm gonna play, plus maybe a few more levels, then I switch to the 'fun' class. Seriously, looking on GameFAQS for 'builds' will make you roll your eyes because most of them involve leveling a Sorc or another class to 200 before playing your fun class.

Brunom1 posted:Fair enough. Those will work, mostly because your weapon stats alone will be enough. If you want to go full sperg check out FAQ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17Avxu-W6BCjDrglXtHg8Z3sKB_z_5tlWhV1Vmf_YWHw/edit and Monster damage defense/resist values: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LRVdZBEWckEERId3bM3fHLlO41m4vA5ep4FGhg4vpvc/edit#gid=0 (note that this game works on a damage model where total damage is roughly equal to your ATK - enemy DEF) In general though the usefulness of stats is determined by the weapons and your play style. Assuming you're going to use any melee moves means you'll be using either a sword or a mace. The best of those two have roughly 2k STR when gold forged, the best hybrid STR&MAG sword or mace has about 1k STR and 700 MAG. What this all boils down to is just play whatever you find fun. BBI weapon stats will largely cover for you.
