A quick note on encumbrance. The guide actually lies to you at first. On page 38 it gives the real max weight amounts (which you'll notice makes S give 50 Kg instead of 40 Kg and makes L give only 75 Kg instead of the claimed 100 Kg. I noticed that earlier but forgot to mention it.

Also, I'm annoyed slightly. New thread, and now I need to go wait outside of Gamestop for 2 hours (I refuse to not have that game at 12:01!) If only I still had my PSP I could read and post in the thread while I wait... Too late to buy a PSP from Gamestop too, heh.

Jasper can be found in the road leading into Noble Quarters, east of Fountain Square. Anyone know about how long you're stuck in jail for if you A: Refuse to bribe the guards/or are poor. and B: Have no skeleton key?

Do not read this. It will spoil the end times. Beyond the Rift. Jump into pit near Fountain Square of Gran Soren. Fall to center. Repeat as necessary to land in various areas along the sides of the shaft. Gather 20 wakestones is your quest. Only do when ready for New Game+, can't turn back once you unlock the deeper secrets of this area. After completing Fathom Deep (The 20 wakestones quest) you will get Final Judgment quest if you jump in the well again. Then you fight big bad boss and then... Get an awesome item. Use the option it has and you start the New Game +.

Discipline Points are also shared between classes. So if you're already at max rank as Mage, may as well change to Sorcerer for a bit to get the free job points there to rank up, and then switch back to Mage (for free, as he already has it unlocked) to get the augments when ya need to.

VDay posted:Thought about doing that, but the offensive mage spells he has right now are too useful to give up. Part of the reason for getting the last two augments (besides the fact that they're awesome) is to smooth the transition over into sorcerer. Some normal class skills are cross-class (i.e. Fire Boon being available to both Mage and Sorcerer) too. So he might just keep those. I do believe most of the basic damage/affinity/boon spells are available as Sorcerer too.

Most shops will unlock new stuff after certain points in the storyline, as follows: Stage 1: Start until Off With Its Head Stage 2: Until First Wyrm Hunt Quest Stage 3: Until Come to Court Stage 4: Until Trials and Tribulations Or Griffin's Bane Stage 5: Until Reward and Responsibility Stage 6: Until The Final Battle Stage 7: Until New Game + In Gran Soren there are the following merchants: Madeleine - After you finish her quest over in Cassardis. She'll have a wide array of items and even some decent armors/weapons/etc. Depending on what idol you give her in a different quest she'll unlock different items. Do not give her a forgery, you get practically nothing from it. Reynard The Travelling Peddler - Good luck on finding him, I've yet to have any luck with the dude. He has a bunch of randomness too. Depending on what items you give him during his quest he'll unlock different items too. Caxton's Armory - We all know him I presume. He has a quest like Madeleine for an idol. He unlocks different items than she does, so it's up to you there... I'm not listing all the differences here. Camelia's Apothecary - Not much use. Fournival Rarities Shop - Look for him at his manor or at the black cat or between the two depending on time of day. Save the Maker's Finger for something that's a real challenge. Maybe it works on Ur-Dragon... He has some armor as well depending on stage, but mostly he sells tools and curatives and ferrystones/wakestone shards. Mountebank - He sells gold weapons that you've unlocked through quests. As well as some outfits. Also has skeleton keys and wakestone shards if ya need those. He's at the Black Cat. Other than that, try exploring other areas of the world as some merchants are found in some weird places...

futureproof posted:You can give it to Madeleine. I think she has a shop in Gran Soren. I'm pretty sure that the idols don't actually give you anything new, you just get discounts. When you give the idols for the quests you gain new items to buy from the shops. Other than that, they do just give discounts, and notably, a forgery of an idol gives the same discount as the real thing (though I don't recommend using it for either quest)

Goons (at least 360 goons). Give your mages Halidom or High Halidom... The point of a mage is so I don't have to carry around any consumables, kinda wasted when I need to carry a bunch of panaceas and such around... And stop saying you have one character per profile. You have one character per profile per save device. You should have more than one save device to use unless you both have a non-Gold account and a 360 without a main unit of any kind. Or in the case of PS3 users, I don't honestly know.

I knew it sent the items back to their inventory, but I thought perhaps it copied them as a 'hey I know you're not going to get much RC, so here' pity thing. Still, a nice touch, sort of like the AI summons and invasions in Dark Souls. Thing is, that GameFAQs statement is just based on guesswork, and honestly, I am more likely to believe it's the case of a pawn dying with stuff as opposed to this mystical "Computer simulated pawn rental". Unless they found a dev statement saying that, which they hadn't had last time it was stated... ThreeLeggedHyena posted:Yeah, the Trial seems to be heavily skewed toward buying/using the forged evidence. I got the petition from the guy in the castle, escorted the soldier, got the letter from the priest and document from the manor and mine still turned out guilty. Does that mean my brother and I can't both have characters on different profiles and one has to saved on a USB or something? One Character Per Storage Device Per Profile. It just isn't as quick to say sadly. The point is. For each storage device you have you can make 1 character for each profile. So, with 4 profiles and 2 storage devices, you have 8 character slots. With 8435 profiles and 1 storage device, you have 8435 character slots. With 1 profile and 12 storage devices, you have 12 character slots and a fuckton of hard drives/flash drives/etc. Also, VDay, I doubt you'll be overly gimped by switching to Sorcerer or Mage, especially not Sorcerer given that they get such a high magic gain up to level 100. And even regardless, Assassin still has okay magic attack gain (2 as opposed to 5 for Sorc and 4 for Mage. But if you're really worried, you might want to just switch to Magic Knight for ~10 levels or so first, but that would really only make it take longer to really test out Sorcerer. Probably best to just become Sorcerer and mostly let your pawns do it, although what with the enemies still being normal weaklings, that isn't too necessary no doubt.
