I am probably really dumb for not understanding how to do this, but how do you give more than one gift to send back wtih a pawn? I'm giving pretty lovely gifts right now because I select one thing then it moves on to the next step.

I think the pawn aspect that has the most influence on my choice is "does it sound like the other ones" because while I do love to hear them chatter I want three different voices, not the same one over and over. The repetition is bad enough without all three blending into one person. I would pay almost any amount of money for DLC with additional voice sets.

Is there a way to make your pawns attack rabbits?

I'm kind of wondering that myself, like if I run around killing all the deer and rabbits and other forest creatures if they'll take up the habit. I think at one point they were killing rats and snakes and bats when I was in a cave (but it might have also just been collateral damage from killing some crates), but I can't get them to kill spiders for anything.

Oh I just remembered a thing that happened while I was in Gran Soren yesterday. I'd just turned in a quest item and collected my reward and was still standing in the alehouse when I heard a scuffle. Two town guys started fist fighting right outside the alehouse. I ran over and talked to each of them thinking maybe it was a quest or something but nope, they just said their regular townsperson throwaway dialogue and walked off in opposite directions.

I'm level 31 or 32 and haven't even met the Duke yet. I've just been running around mapping areas and doing all the sidequests I could find. :v: The only ones I have left are "kill # of X" and a couple of escort quests and I'm really not that excited about escort quests (have done 3 so far) so it's probably about time to move the story along (so I can get more sidequests!)

Quina's escort quest is the only one you really need to worry about : that will open up two quests that I believe are part of the 'The Hero' achievement.

It is not required, the NPC in question will get there on their own without your help if you don't do it. You still have to go to that location and do those two quests at some point though.

I did the first escort for that NPC and have the second one available; I'll probably go ahead and do it because I've already been to her destination and she's currently able to be in two places at once and that bugs me a little :downs:

I would love to be able to buy a tent and set up camp. I wouldn't mind if it was dangerous, like if there was a risk of monsters waking you up in the middle of the night. I just would like a way to skip night if I'm out in the woods and don't feel like stumbling around in the dark. Don't get me wrong, I love that it is actually really loving dark and dangerous at night, but I don't always want to deal with it.

You can craft frozen holy water, I made one the other day randomly combining junk I had in my inventory.

Frozen Holy Water:
Purifying Brew X Violet Concoction

Violet Concoction is just Crimson Concoction + Cerulean Concoction, and there's a bunch of plants you can combine to make each of those. Purifying Brew is made with Windmill flowers and Crimson Concoction.

Here's a list with locations for gathering flowers:

I'm getting really frustrated with this ballista thing. If I run over and clear all the goblins out first, it never fails that one of my pawns has already got on the ballista and started shooting at the cyclopes, which means I can't get on it and shoot out the other ballistas before they blow it up. If I run over and get on it before the pawns, they fart around and let goblins hit me in the back which knocks me off the ballista, then one of my loving pawns jumps on it and I'm back to the other scenario. Also it could just be because I've spent about 30 seconds total trying to use it, but I can't tell that I'm even making it shoot. I'm aiming at the bolts trying to hit them before they hit me, but either I just really suck and am missing them, or nothing is happening. I tried using comet shot to snipe the goblins off the other ballistas but they keep blowing me up and they're really hard to see in the dark.

I'm going to try pecking at the cyclops before the ballistas get triggered, and see if killing them first makes any difference. It takes an eternity to take one down sniping at it but I've done it before. If my pawns would just shoot at the other ballistas this would be a breeze, but apparently a cyclops that can't even reach them is a bigger threat. I'm also going to have to sit in the stairwell and wait for daylight I guess, so I can at least see the goddamn ballista goblins to snipe them with my bow.

The worst part is it takes so long to load back up every time I have to start over. I've spent more time waiting for the game to load than on my attempts. :suicide:

Commanding them to "come" gets them off the ballista. So, down on the d-pad to get your pawns to stop cockblocking you. I mean, it takes them a while to dismount, but it's better than sitting there.

Thanks for that! I killed both cyclopes, ran over and cleared out the goblins around the ballista, then called my dudes away so I could get on the ballista. Also I discovered that I had in fact NOT been shooting it (didn't notice the little R2 SHOOT cue at first, so I'd been switching bolts back and forth instead of actually releasing them) so I was finally able to start doing some damage with the stupid thing and that really helped a lot! :downs:

I thought I'd taken out both ballistas, but turns out I'd only destroyed one and just killed the goblin firing the other one (still was kinda dark, I couldn't see much) so as soon as I hopped off, thinking I was done, one of the little twerp goblins starts shooting at me again and blew up my ballista. That was when I discovered I could shoot the bolts with my bow too, so that was fun for a little while until I finally killed that last goblin.

I kinda wish I hadn't started as a Strider, nothing else has been quite as much fun. I went Strider > Ranger > Fighter and now Assassin, oh and I spent about 5 minutes as a Warrior in there somewhere but couldn't stand how slow attacking was. Fighter was fun but I missed the double jump too much. Assassin has been underwhelming so far, probably because I don't have much interest in stumbling around in the dark by myself. I'm gonna keep rolling with it for now but I think I'm either going to go back to Strider or Ranger soon (I miss ensnare but love the Ranger bow strength). I'm saving the magic classes either for NG+ or a new character, haven't decided which way I want to do that.

I was pretty happy with my main Pawn being a fighter, but I got sick of trying to find non-Guardian mages in the rift and made him a mage at level 40 after maxing out Fighter, Warrior, and Ranger on him. He can carry a ton of stuff and is very durable, even if his magic skills are less than ideal. :black101:

I'm way over-leveled but I swear I haven't been grinding...I just like gathering weeds and mushrooms and looking for rocks to mine and I ended up fighting a ton of stuff while farting around in the woods and fields. :ohdear:

Wait what? How does that work? I have a ton of eggs because I obsessive collect everything but I thought they just went rotten. I found a golden egg somewhere, but was not aware that you could make them out of regular eggs.

Btw if you shoot crows and seagulls sometimes they drop an egg.

Eggs mature by going "golden" in three in-game days, same as how meat sours and vegetables moulder. Then, from being golden, eggs will become rotten in less time than that. Golden eggs and airtight flasks make great buddies.

Wow I obviously have not held any of my eggs long enough to get to that point. I was just tossing them into storage immediately and thought the golden ones were an entirely different (rare) item :downs:

Guess when I'm mouldering my apples and grapes for wine I need to start maturing my eggs too. Selling the soured meat steaks and scraps I've collected while out adventuring has been a pretty good source of income as well.

EDIT:
Well gently caress. I totally screwed up Trials and Tribulations because I didn't know when to turn in my evidence. I saved before resting on that last day, thinking I'd be able to go back to that save if I needed to, but wasn't expecting to get trapped in a cut scene immediately upon leaving the inn, and afterwards instead of a checkpoint save it overwrote my manual save. Poor Fournival, guess you get to spend the rest of your life in prison (at least until NG+) and I get to pay too much for Ferrystones. I got hilariously chewed out for my "reprehensible indolence" and managed to fail another quest on top of that. :saddowns:

On my current run my pawn was a fighter for a while, and I was put to sleep by snow harpies so I got a good look at his actions. He stood in one spot while four harpies flew in the air above him and spammed shield strike at nothing in particular, until he ran out of stamina and had to stop.

I was taking a nap on the ground in a very similar situation and caught my fighter pawn doing this. He's usually a beast and takes poo poo down before I even have a chance to hit it, so I thought this was really weird. I also made him a mage for a short time and was running around just the two of us, and some phantoms tore my poo poo up because he wouldn't knock them off my head. :iiam:

edit vv:
That was even with me spamming Help! He healed me and enchanted my weapon, but wouldn't swing his stick and knock it off my face.

I think you're right about them working better in a group. My pawn was at his most retarded when I didn't have anyone else along. I was kinda doing the same thing, trying to add some challenge by not bringing a full party, but then I started dying in really dumb ways so I went back to 3 pawns and I'm much happier.

I finally decided I should go fight the dragon and move on to the postgame, and on the way I had my first encounter with succubi and hell hounds. Holy crap! It was like being at the beginning again; my party was getting slaughtered. It really didn't help that after steamrolling most everything up to that point my arisen was dressed for aesthetics and not any sort of defense. Also my mage pawn walked off a cliff so we were a man short. It was just embarrassing to have to turn tail and run back to Gran Soren.

Okay, so I messed up and the innkeeper of Gran Soren became my true love at the end of the game. Is there any way to bring him back to Gran Soren in the postgame? This is on a New Game+ file which I breezed through to get the last achievement, so I incorrectly assumed I would end up with my old true love from the first time around.

The innkeeper is perhaps the most inconveniencing person to have be your true love when you're trying to run around Everfall. :( Barring that, is there anyone else in Gran Soren that can let me access my stored items?

Isn't Ser Alfonso by the gate, standing in a group of tents? The innkeeper is still where he's supposed to be in my game but I just found this other guy and he lets you rest for 100g, store items, and learn skills.
