Wow I am having a lot of fun with this game. Right now I'm just playing with my my character and my main pawn, both of whom are Striders, for more difficulty (though this will probably change later). For some reason my Pawn looks way cooler than my main though...even her armor looks better. Then again, I did design my character to be a very ordinary-looking person and my pawn to be a badass, but still. I am actually really pleasantly surprised by the game since the reviews made me very wary; the game world is actually larger than I expected.

Anyone know what it means when your pawn returns with no rating and some random items? Does that mean that they just died in the other Arisen's world? I was confused at first when that happened because you can't really avoid giving a rating when you're dismissing a pawn. Also I gotta say, I am having so much fun with the Strider class that...I don't really want to switch. At the same time I'm worried that my stats might get bad later on so I'm switching to Assassin for now, but I just love Ensnare too much...

drat. Just met the Duchess and even though I'm playing a female character, that entire scene was just telegraphing a romance right there. Wonder if it actually pans out or if it's just a thing. Also, for the beginning of the quest The Conspirators, the dude is not showing up in the marked place at night. Do I just stick around and wait, or is the marked place actually wrong?

If I'm a level 40 Ranger, and I want to become a Mage after having been a ranger/strider for most of my levels, is that feasible? I know that Striders have some points put into magic, right? If not that, how about switching over to warrior or fighter? Kind of want to give another class a try after being a strider all the time.

Samurai Sanders posted:How is the ranger for melee? I know its not what they are for but sometimes you just need to put your sword in things. It's not too bad, I think. I sort of dabbled in being an Assassin and I think I do decent enough damage with the dagger, and it shares a lot of skills with the Strider class. (Actually, IIRC, Rangers don't actually get any new dagger skills, right?) The skills it gets for the longbow though are just so much better than the dagger skills you have access to however.

Well, I started a completely new game. I made both my Arisen and pawn kids because I thought it would be neat to get to 'grow up' by buying an Art of Metamorphosis and aging them up once I get to the duke, sort of like OoT. Although, I doubt anyone is going to hire a kid fighter pawn, but really all I need is to save up for a Metamorphosis. Going to try to get all the quests this time around too. Gestalt Intellect posted:Can you see some visual indication of when a pawn is using curatives? I'm using Freighter S. to hold everything and then taking items from him when I need them, but I get the impression he's using a lot of these when I'm not looking, even though he isn't set to Utilitarian yet (though I'll be giving him that inclination since several people said it was good). I just don't want him using the likes of Panaceas because I accidentally wandered into my mage pawn's blindness field to hit the last goblin in a fight, or wasting tons of curatives on fights that we could have won without them. And your main pawn does not count as an NPC with a raisable affinity.

Right, I felt pretty much the same way, which is why I decided to start a completely new game. Changed up my pawn and Arisen's appearance for the sake of variety, and it might just be a weird illusion but I could almost swear they run faster. Do small characters run faster?
