IIRC Stephenson's generally considered post-cyberpunk, not cyberpunk. Cyberpunk was really less about cyberspace and technology and more about a fundamental lack of respect for humanity. I don't remember anything in Stephenson's work that was comparable to Case having his ability to use drugs taken away from him (without his consent) or Molly running on broken legs, or the ninja being blinded and then just continuing on.
