This looks ridiculous, can't wait. I hope Muse one day achieves their stated goal of performing in space

Sulk posted:They've finally completed the process and have become a parody of themselves See, Muse is an example of a band where since I like pretty much everything they've done, and they've made a habit of going off on musical tangents, I have no problem with them 'betraying' their old style.

I thought it was pretty good, I just question the necessity of having a 4 minute intro to a 4 minute song.

marshmallard posted:No. Your own wording disproves your point. "Opening two SONGS". Survival is just for the Olympics (like Neutron Star Collision was for Twilight) and Unsustainable is not a single. Except that Neutron Star Collision never appeared on a Muse album and Survival is on the upcoming album.

I haven't heard the full album yet, but since I enjoyed The Resistance, grew to like 'Survival' and love 'Madness' I suspect I'll like The 2nd Law.

Sir Lemming posted:So is anyone from the US actually bothering to try the stream that was linked by Muse's Facebook, email list, web site, etc.? All it does is redirect me to the iTunes page. I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for. You're being redirected because that stream isn't available in the US. You could just listen to it here instead: http://grooveshark.com/#!/album/The+2nd+Law/7948193 (A few tracks are missing/out of order; click 'show more songs') (Grooveshark doesn't count as Slate Action fucked around with this message at Sep 25, 2012 around 02:43 |

After listening to this album a few times, while I agree that it has little to no cohesion and is frequently derivative, I like most of the songs on it. Personal highlights would be the first 5 tracks, Animals, Big Freeze and Isolated System. Also I can't wait to read the Pitchfork review of this album
