This Videoblast guy, that I youtube friended a since ever since back, has been somewhat prolific with nifty videos with a really low view count. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoJsWXAs6jY&feature=relmfu He just edits the stuff and I have no idea what a "Blingee" is. Hope it's not a gang thing.

I figured Youtube was having an outage or something. Two days later, I couldn't watch Youtube videos at all. I'll second that motion about the table measure...Seems to be in a rather suckful state. I'm sure Frank is a very nice person and I know it's not cool to make fun of a burn victim, but his oddly soothing videos could be spoofed: him going down the trail, people running away, a body-sized patch of disturbed earth appearing, approaching the playground as the kids scatter and scream in fear...

This is from about a hundred posts ago, but I didn't realize the sad history of Metallica; it explains their passion for me. They lost a founding member so very early on. Here's one of my favorites from a band that lost a founding member at their peak: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESAZFiD9rAU The awesome guitar work is Ricky, Cindy's brother, who told no one about his aids. One day he just said he's too sick to perform. Their story is so strong; I should look for a docudrama about how they took such a gut punch and came back with Cosmic Thing just to neatly bookend the 80's. edit// this one is also good because Fred shuts the gently caress up for a minute Subliminal Sauce fucked around with this message at 03:45 on Aug 6, 2013 |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOFdDcMKMf0 I'm still on my no-wave bender, especially about these guys. If they toured the states in '82 (unlikely, they're from Birmingham UK), they'd have played within walking distance of me sitting like a dumbass in my dorm room, playing ELO records. The no-wave scene was big in my college town; it was 15 minutes off I-80 and lots of bands hit that town. I recall many no-wave flyers & posters and am just kicking myself about not being cool when I had a chance to. Later on I'll bet I passed over their LP at the record shop, heading straight for the Ralph Records section..at least I was evolving. They did 2 albums, the first, Playing With a Different Sex is a one-time-only combination of talent, passion, and snarkiness. Their stark sound with her voice singing such sarcastic truth just leaves me in a deer-in-headlights state. A critic at the time said "They don't write them like this anymore!" Somehow the 80's happened to them; 2nd album tanked, they broke up in '83. The beautiful voice, Lesley Woods, is now a lawyer in London, according to wiki. On bass is Jane Munro, now an aromatherapist. If any band needs a "we're getting the band back together" kind of mission, it's them. The world needs this and they could use the retirement reinforcement. That is if they can get that mojo back... Any UK goons down with stalking some not-exactly-never-was-has-beens and get this reunion tour started? tia (and sorry about the too wordiness of it all, dammit)

Here's a sweet happy song to bring a tear to the eye and seems appropriate about now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sonLd-32ns4 Can't hate on a girl named Skeeter. I think this was played in Kill Bill. I'm currently having a Winston Smith episode about this song because I swear I heard a version of this by Pia Zadora; played quite a bit on them snarky college stations in the early 90s, so epically bad it was. I swear I wasn't trippin or lied to when I asked "what the gently caress (back in the 90s we didn't have wtf) is this?!" I know it was her un-tunable soulless voice and they made it last like 10 minutes of profound cringing. It's still weird that I can find nothing at all that Pia did this song, but it still rings, out of tune, in my head. Subliminal Sauce fucked around with this message at 08:36 on Sep 11, 2013 |
