Was it week 7 when McFadden went out? And my playoff hopes in one league where I had Charles and Britt as well

There are MANY more receivers who can give you good production out there than potential RB's you can pick up in the top 5. No way Id take Johnson that early

Really need to reach:
- Jon Baldwin, Vincent Brown, David Nelson, Brandon LaFell

Will all of these guys turn into top wideouts? Of course not, but if you fill your bench with 2-3 of them, you'll be just fine. Compare these names to the running backs and tight ends that'll be available towards the end of the draft...

I could see David Nelson being a decent sleeper with a healthy QB and all WR's at full strength. Big fast slot guy

Also he did pretty well before the rash of injuries IIRC

Forte's back to my "Must draft if available 2nd round" guy since he got a new contract. Actual training camp means he's not going to start poo poo like so many other hold-outs.

You dont think Bush will cut into his time? I had Forte last year and fell in love with the guy but Bush plus coming off a knee injury... :/

A huge exploitable problem Yahoo has is that while you can't pick up a free agent until Wednesday, it's open until Sunday. That means you can instantly pick up a player during a Thursday night game (Which I have abused )

What does everyone think about the Doug Martin/TB situation? Im still targeting him as a potential to blow rookie under Schiano but its looking more and more like a full time share.

Just drafted my first team this year. What do you guys think?

QB-Aaron Rodgers, Josh Freeman
RB-Darren McFadden, Michael Turner, Stephen Jackson, LaGarrette Blount, CJ Spiller, Rashard Mendenhall
WR-Vincent Jackson, Demaryius Thomas, Kenny Britt, Michael Crabtree
TE-Jimmy Graham, Jermaine Gresham
K-Matt Bryant
DEF-Pittsburgh Steelers

I took a few return from injury gambles but they are bench anyway so i thought "why not?"

Decent team overall. Just a lot of questions at RB and WR. Id definitely dump Gresham for WR help and maybe trade Britt for someone desperate for help at RB willing to absorb the risk. Maybe package them

Just to add, ive been going RB/RB/RB in all my mocks and have ended with a combo of

Miles, S. Johnson, Wayne most times others Dez, S. Johnson (hes consistently there in the 5th), Torrey Smith

I think thats pretty good to get 3 very good backs as well

I'm not exactly particularly high on Richardson either but I think it's worth pointing out that 2 years ago the Browns produced the #2 fantasy RB in Peyton Hillis. Richardson is supremely more talented than Hillis and I have hard time believing this Browns team is that much worse than the 2010 Browns, if at all.

This plus there is quite literally no other running back to take carries from Richardson. He'll produce from sheer volume

the_american_dream

Im fine with Hernandez, Witten, Gonzalez, and rolling the dice (again) on Finley in the middle rounds than taking a TE that high personally. I also think Tamme is a GREAT sleeper

Exactly how I was thinking. Luckily his explosion came when Dez was out and I believe Vincent Jackson was as well and I was lucky enough to be forced to use him. Kinda like how I traded away Matt Stafford for Daniel Thomas last year preseason.

Traded Stafford for Ryan last preseason, guy was a big detroit fan and I figured itd be more of a wash than anything

Also turned down a Jimmy Graham for Reggie Bush trade after week 1 in one league and a Steve Johnson/Dez Bryant for Bush trade in another

I've played the QB roulette before. It's not pretty. I think WR is the easiest to fool around with in this way.

In competitive leagues of 12 teams, there's no way he'll last after the 3rd round, even with this surgery. He'd have to be at a serious risk of missing games at the beginning for people to knock him down to the 5th round. For my team's sake, I hope you're right.

Yea that was conservative. In my RB hungry league im sure hes gone by the 3rd as well

LmaoTheKid posted:

I'm personally targeting Doug Martin in the 6th as my "under the radar" guy. But we'll see how my team shakes out by then.

Also, the more I read, the more I'm not afraid of taking Fred Jackson again this year. the guy is 31 and has had less wear and tear than Rice, MocCoy and Foster.

In the mocks ive seen hes gone by the 4th which I think may be slightly high since all we have right now is heavy assumptions he'll carry most of the workload
