Camp Something Awful, One of our more renowned forums administrators was contacted recently by Slate cartoonist, multiple blogger, intense chocoholic, daydreamer, reluctant runner, birdwatcher Donna Barstow, in regards to her works being posted on Something Awful. ![]() https://twitter.com/cartooness/stat...912671833751553 Apparently, some of you scumbags haven't been respecting the "copyright" of her "work", especially after she "lost" her "job" making "political cartoons". Since apparently she's under the impression that her scribblings are a moneymaker for some reason, and management wishes the forum not to be a hateful, racist, stealing, illegal site, our attorney Leonard J. Crabs has advised us to implement a new rule. From henceforth, it's no longer OK to post her stuff unless it's in Fair Use. Specifically, if you are critical of her artwork, listed from the sites below or any of her works, you have to add at least 30 words of criticism. http://opedcartoons.com/ http://thecartoons.net/ http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/ink-blots-cartoons Again, respect Fair Use explicitly for Donna Barstow's work. If you aren't sure your post meets the "Fair Use" requirement, I urge you to contact Donna directly: https://twitter.com/cartooness/ I thank all of you for your time.

![]() This comic appears to imply that the Rapture will consist of everyone on a freeway in the middle of a deserted wasteland having rockets strapped to their bottom of their cars and blasting off into the sky in trajectories and perspective that would make both rocket scientists and artists go into seizures. SAID COMIC WAS MADE BY DONNA BARSTOW AND IS BEING USED UNDER FAIR USE REGULATIONS She also thinks Ted Rall is noteworthy enough to link to, which explains pretty much everything about this woman.

![]() I for one am certainly glad that she's been able to so perfectly capture the cultural zeitgeist that defined early 2007, creating work that has endeared to the masses for years to come. For without terrible cartoons to come before them, how would competent cartoonists flourish and learn? In doing a disservice to the craft, Ms. Barstow has, pardon the pun, raised the bar for her successors.

A "cartoon" from DonnaBarstow@fart...from Psychology Today![]() This drawing is to political cartooning as much as my dog's dump is to urban art. It was even placed in a "stellar" magazine known for it's peer reviewed (hahahahahaha) and accurate information. It makes no sense and the shading is crap. I mean all this in a satirical fashion of course. Fart. (USER WAS PUT ON PROBATION FOR THIS POST)

![]() Coming from someone who's twitter handle is "@cartoness", I'm not surprised that she interprets the notion that womyn who are mothers and who might be into nerdy mass produced culture, aside from other mass produced culture such as written books and political cartons, are nothing more than the selfish children's wishes to see a movie. Way to reinforce culturally enforced gender roles.

It’s a NO-brainer." ![]() Apparently the ability to build a mosque in the remains of a decrepit Burlington Coat Factory means that the President of the United States of America is an idiot. Notice the flowing connection between the two over the 3 watermarks, which form a rough triangular pattern. This indicates the growing disconnect of the 3 branches of federal government, as the Executive branch continues to gain more power and swing away from the Legislative branch, only being held in place by the SCOTUS. Donna Barstow posted:The question, Chris, is why they want to build right there? Have you ever heard of a church wanting to build so badly in one spot? It’s a total lack of common sense and sensitivity. The nature of limited property space in the City of New York, Manhattan especially, factors one decision to continue building a lot Donna. When one sees a viable location to open a center that will cater to thousands of people, with and without faith, one usually would like to open it where it will work.

![]() I honestly don't get what the joke is supposed to be here. She collects salt and pepper shakers. Ha ha? Like, why is this a humorous concept? It's slightly bizarre, sure, but, like, why is it deemed "funny" enough to write/"draw" a comic about it? So like, she's a wife and a mother and a business woman that likes to collect salt and pepper shakers. Is the joke that she's useless in all other aspects? Or is the joke literally "look at all these shakers?" Speaking of which, none of the "shakers" look like salt shakers. They just look like amorphous blobs, just sorta floating over what is supposed to be her desk. Her face doesn't really look like it exists, in fact, when I first saw this drawing, I thought the woman depicted was a bird standing on some sort of hat rack. Finally, I don't know what the gently caress windows look like in whatever world Donna inhabits, but the windows on those buildings sure don't look like any in mine. I would forgive the fact nothing looks the way it should if it were artistically valid, or stylized, or, appealing in pretty much any way, but this just look like someone who can't loving draw. Why does this person have a job while so many Americans are out of work? Why is she allowed to draw a stupid piece of unfunny poo poo in MSPaint, call it a day, and go birdwatching or running (reluctantly) while most of us are having our houses foreclosed on? This drawing makes me angry for reasons I cannot comprehend.

I was going to make fun of this lady but I just can't bring myself to do it. Granted, her "cartoons" are god awful, she obviously has zero artistic ability, but then this line from a blog about Gabrielle Giffords just made feel bad for her: "They were really just newlyweds, married barely 4 years.
