Director: Seth MacFarlaneWriters: Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin, Wellesley WildStars: Mark Wahlberg, Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlaneImpressive blend of raunchy, often immature comedy, and mature themes / believable emotions. The romance story itself is pretty basic and typical, but what really makes this movie is Ted. He is completely inappropriate, smoking weed and saying racist jokes and jokes about sex. Some scenes I thought were too stupid, like there is a scene about farts near the beginning, and a scene about crap shortly after that. Other than those parts, the comedy is usually pretty clever, Family Guy-quality stuff. And of course, since you're dealing with McFarlane, expect pop culture references that span the last two decades up to the current minute (Justin Bieber and Taylor Lautner both get called out in Ted, to name just a couple). The antagonists were pretty creepy, but they could have made them funnier than the cliche creepy dad/spoiled fat son. This was, for me, mainly where Ted fell flat. It would have been funnier if they were like the pedophile old man from Family Guy. 4 / 5

I'll take my comedy without the raunch, thank you.

If you're unsure as to what Family Guy style humor is, you should check out Seth McFarlane's hit television cartoon, Family Guy.

I dont like family guy so I really didnt like Ted too much. The jokes are the same tired pop culture reference crap macfarlane has been doing for his entire career and the love affair with Flash Gordon that the movie has was funny at first but after 30-45 minutes of dedicated Flash Gordon jokes it got incredibly old. Mila Kunis is also as horrible as usual, and how she still gets work after her role in 'American Psycho: 2" is beyond me. Ill give it 3/5 because the bear is incredibly well done and I was continually impressed by his integration into the movie. You really do forget he is a CGI bear at some points. There also were a few scenes that admittedly made me laugh out loud. Go see it if you like family guy because it pretty much is a live action episode with a bear instead of peter griffin.

I like Family Guy a lot but I simply couldn't get into this movie. What works well as a cartoon does not necessarily translate well into a regular movie. There were a few laughs but most of the jokes fell flat. 2/5 (would be a 1/5 but it did provide some mild entertainment).

A very lazy film. Almost all of the jokes miss the mark. 2/5

I saw this with my dad and brother and we laughed most of the way through. A number of the jokes are dumb and bad but others were great. The ending is reaaaaaally phoned in though. 4/5

Kind of surprised at people's reactions with this one both in the theater and out. I knew exactly what I was getting when I signed on to watch Ted, you're getting Family Guy jokes. The people I took with me weren't on the same page apparently, they didn't bust a gut laughing like I did. We sat next to a mother and her daughter, I'd put them around 45 and 18 or so, they laughed a few times but most of the time they gasped. It actually improved the fun factor for me, seeing these uptight white people hearing pussy jokes and stoner material for the first time. I cannot understand the confusion or the stoic looks of people when it comes to Ted, I laughed the whole way through. Mission accomplished. 4/5

I think this movie cracked me up so much because it was somehow more grounded yet simultaneously more outrageous than regular Family Guy can be on network television. And I'm pretty sick of Family Guy - haven't watched it in years. Still, the first hour of the movie had me laughing pretty steadily throughout. I'm 26 now, and it's weird seeing popular culture made now that glorifies poo poo that was around when I was little. Living through the 80s once was enough, thanks! 4/5

I watched this movie with my girlfriend from the bed and she hated it. I thought it was passable but it would probably have been more fun with guys and beers.

I watched this in a Latvian theatre killing time between flights and I was sat next to a girl who must have been about 11 or 12 years old and her 20-something mother. The movie wasn't that great but it would have been better if I hadn't been so uncomfortable.

So what happened to the bad guy and his fat kid? Besides the point, the best part of the movie was FLASH! AHHHUHHHH! He's the savior of the Universe! It was pretty much what was to be expected.

As one of the few who still enjoys Family Guy, I was still surprised that this was as good as it is. It had a lot of genuinely funny scenes, but some of the attacks on people were not only not funny, but didn't fit. If you are a fan of Wahlberg, MacFarlane, or Kunis, you'll probably enjoy it. 3.5/5
