Some of the shots in this thread are amazing, just like the subjects. I'm not exactly creative when it comes to photographing cars, but I'd like to think that my shots are at least presentable. Here are my favorites: BMW Z4 in the snow by Steini DJ, on Flickr  Nissan XTerra 2007 by Steini DJ, on Flickr A co-worker was selling this car so I took a few shots of it for him. It's a slightly modified Nissan XTerra he used for hunting.  1986 BMW 635Csi by Steini DJ, on Flickr My fathers mint BMW 6-series. He needs that license plate to remind him which car it is, I guess. I really enjoy the color set in this photo, but I would've liked to see less glare on the front wheels.  E39 M5 by Steini DJ, on Flickr E39 M5, taken in the same spot as the 6-series. Different boat though.  BBS LM by Steini DJ, on Flickr I was trying out a technique to photograph wheels in this shot and the next. I have since then done off with the horrible water marks. Take a look at your white balance.. snow should be white, not blue. Even the white parts on the license plate have a blue cast to them.

I was experimenting with setting the white balance manually, but I made a poor job of it. I'll rework it in lightroom and update the photo.

It can be tricky because you get into a "that's how it looked when I was there!" frame of thinking especially if you're shooting with the sun low in the sky. Snow in shadow does tend to have a blue cast to it. But in photos, it seems like pure white snow always ends up looking better because that's what most of us expect to see.

I got my windows tinted and wanted to another shoot of the new wrx last week. I'm happy with some of these but ran into to tech issues and the sun didn't really want to wait around, so I ran low on light again. Also the area was more cramped than I expected and the backgrounds more challenging. I also see some places where I could probably composite 2 photos with my cpl rotated.
