"When we said 'Farsi, I'm from Iran,' he said, 'I just can't sell this to you. Our countries have bad relations,'" Sahar Sabet told WSB-TV.

According to the report, the Apple store employee cited the company's official policy, which prohibits the sale of their products to countries with which trade is prohibited by U.S. embargo.

e: The US has an Embergo with Iran and Apple is an US company (well techinically they're probably an Irish company or where ever the PO box they're using for tax reasons is at) so they probably aren't allowed to sell iPads to people they think might send them to Iran. It's dumb since it's just an expensive toy and not the plans to make a nuke or whatever but it's the law I guess.

It has nothing to do with the south or racism. Apple - pretty much the 'least south' major company in the USA - has the policy. They backed this employee up too, like a month ago.
