hey friends so we all know that one of the keys to being a good cj/computer professional is the beard. it radiates power. I was wondering if anyone had tips for a neckbeard newbie or wanted to share neck beard experiences of their own. mostly I go maybe say, 3-4 days without shaving and then trim a little bit and keep trimming once every few days but them my mom says I look disgusting so I eventually shave it all off and start the process again. can u guys suggest tips for overcoming my neck beard anxiety/neckbeard grooming/the raddest neck beards???

HineyBorelTheorem posted:this is bad for my sensitive skin though HineyBorelTheorem posted:isn't that the one with the sharp blade where if you gently caress up you cut your jugular and die? if you shave with a normal razor, the worst that will happen will be that you slide the blade and bleed a bit. it's unsightly, but not dangerous, and will not happen once you've had a week or two of experience. since it sounds like you did not learn how to shave as a teenager, you will have to learn now, but it will be more difficult to learn because you're dealing with full-growth adult beard. best option IMO is to shave at night when you're first starting out, so any stupid mistakes can clot up overnight. first, shower, and make sure to get some hot water plus soap on your neck. when you towel off, don't dry your face or neck. get some decent shaving soap or cream, lather up. shave your sideburns/cheeks since they're pretty much impossible to gently caress up. then shave the sides and back of your jaw. if you've not gotten bloody yet, go for the upper lips, then the chin. rinse the razor after each swipe. if you've gotten through that without drawing significant blood, go for the neck hair. for me at least, this hair is much more difficult, since the hairs are strong and the skin is quite thin. it can take some people up to a month to learn how to shave your neck without looking like you've been in an auto accident.
