This is honestly like Addicted and Deconstruction had a baby with a twist of Ghost. In other words it has the poppiness of Addicted while still having the epic feel of Deconstruction and it has the happy warm feelings from Ghost. It's pretty cool. I'm kind of surprised at the underwhelmed reaction to the first half of the album. Where We Belong in might be my favorite song on the album. There are a few forgettable tracks here and there but overall this thing is just hitting all the right buttons with me.

I honestly really don't have any problem witht he early part of the album at all. Lucky Animals has grown on me and I think True North and Liberation are pretty god damned awesome. Oh well, more amazing music for me I guess

I'm so loving pissed. I was front and center for Devin tonight and I accidentally elbowed a guy midway through the set and the security guys thought I did it on purpose and threw me out. I am so, so, so pissed right now. The show was amazing up until that point (well Stolen Babies and Devin were, Paradise Lost was alright and I found Katatonia as dull as I always so). So pissed.

Addicted is what got me way into Devin Townsend. I listened to SYL a little bit before that but I never got THAT into it. When I checked out his solo stuff it seemed corny so I didn't bother. Then a bunch of goons listed Addicted as their best of the year so I checked it out and I was hooked and have been hooked ever since. I even like SYL more. There are still a bunch of his album I haven't really had the chance to get into though.

The 150 copies thing appears to be limited to just one run that has a bunch of other poo pooquote:• All five Strapping Young Lad albums, remastered for vinyl by Spectre Mastering (Troy Glessner) with new artwork by Seempieces | Illustration & Design by Travis Smith. I believe there's going to be other versions of the set that don't have the exclusive stuff. I don't really love the new album art:

Yeah, I liked The Gathering so I really like Anneke. It is odd to hear her sounding so happy though. It's like the stuff she's done recently is just to break free of the dour stuff she did with The Gathering and Agua De Annique.

I think saying Synchestra is accessible is both right in wrong. It has alot of pretty fun, catchy tracks but it also has a bunch of stuff that's harder to get into. It has both sides of the Devin coin in there, which is part of the reason it's so drat good.

I quite like Animals As Leaders (I saw them a while ago before anyone has heard of them opening for Dillinger Escape Plan) but it would still be better to get a longer Devin set if only because I've only really listened to one AAL album all that much (and of course I like Devin better).

I'm not looking forward to going to the Palladium tomorrow. I've really grown to not like that place despite seeing some great shows there. It doesn't help that the last time I saw Devin there I got kicked out. Ah well. It's still better than the House of Blue.

Twas a pretty great show. Seemed a bit short and as usual his levels were not great (it was honestly almost impossible to make out a thing in Rejoice) but it was still a hell of a time. I do kind of like that Devin sort of inadvertently dissed Monuments at the end (I shoudl no that Monuments weren't bad but the lead singer was ridiculously too good for that band).
