Earlier today I touched the heating apparatus for my hot curlers(My hair was destined for a different era) and got a nice blistery burn on almost all of my index fingerpad. From what I understand it's probably a lesser 2nd degree burn. It feels numb on top but very painful below, and deep. I followed treatment guidelines; held under cool water for 20 minutes, wrapped it loosely with gauze, took ibuprofen, all that jazz.

While double-checking recommended treatment to make sure I didn't gently caress up, I found mention of contracture or burns healing too tightly, and that this is more likely on fingers. However, I couldn't find information on when such stretching should begin.

My questions are: Is this a possibility with my finger? If so, when should I consider stretching? Any other treatment tips?

I'm not really worried, but I often get hypertrophic scarring so I thought I'd ask.

Other info, in case it matters: 23 year old female, I tend to bruise and scar easily. Taking lamictal and amphetamines.
