Escape the Red Giant. I loved it when it was first posted, but I played it recently, and I feel like they changed something about it. It feels like it was changed to make you more likely to break through planets rather than land on them and circle them, if that makes sense.

edit: well i just played it again, and maybe i was wrong, it feels just like playing it before. It's an awesome game, if you never played it before, give it a shot!

That's actually not it. In this other one you stay on one planet and shoot the asteroids with a gun.

Actually enjoying this. It kinda reminds me of Paladog with the whole murderous animals with medieval weaponry aspect, just with a Papa's twist.

I think Odin Quest is what videogames look like to grandparents. I'm killing treefolk, transporting beehives, I've got three dozen goddamn buttons blinking and sparkling at me at the same time. My eyes have glazed over, I don't know what the hell is happening.

It looks like the point of this thing is to confuse the gently caress out of anyone playing for the first time and get them to spend real money on "goldleaf" recharges. It's addictive anyway, for whatever reason, so if you'll excuse me, Trixie the mage has NPCs to click on and broken English to decipher.

That's what happened with me! I played it long ago and it was great, then I played it a couple weeks before posting it and was breaking through every planet, then played it when I posted it and it was like normal.

I really wish Kongregate would just make a spin-off for all their Facebook-style MMOs so I don't keep finding a new game and discovering it's Farmville but with ninjas or spaceships.

I figured it out. For some reason, if you jump with the spacebar instead of the up arrow you'll crash through a lot of asteroids.

Hey, remember Hack Slash Crawl?

http://armorgames.com/play/10373/hack-slash-crawl

I went back to it today and I think I finally beat it. I'm at level 68, with almost 200 armor. What I didn't realize before elemental resistance is important. If you've got that, and make it past 25, you can break the game. I can go into every group and melee one by one with barely a wound, or else charm a couple of the enemies and just let them kill each other. Just wish the scenery would change as i progress. Any other similar roguelike recommendations?

Update: I'm on this same game this evening, level 155 now, and it's almost impossible for me to die. At a certain point you start leveling about four times per level instead of once, and you get loot from half of the guys you kill. The enemies don't change any more, and the poison robot basketball is the boss every single level.

This has to be the 5th time I've seen this exact same game on Kongregate but with different graphics. All the buttons are the same, they all have that stupid chest hanging out in the corner, and they all let you just click on the quest text to complete all the quests. Are they all made by the same sweat shop or are they just stealing it from each other?

It's a shame that's he's resorted to making these exclusively. After many attempts at making " creative" and "artistic" things and receiving nothing for it, it seems he/they have resorted to just mindless violence projects because that's what the flash game crowd wants and the people shelling out money for these won't even look twice at anything else.

The unforgiving timer is there for two reasons: to give it a little bit of old school overly difficult nes games feel and to make the high scores at least some what meaningful. Too many flash scoreboards just get hacked and just become 99999999 ihackedthis spam enteries. I remember back when the developer's site had a forum, they said they have put in scripts to auto-delete those enteries.

You have to grab the out-of-order sign, use the tape that was holding it to fix the wires, put the can under the spigot, pull the lever, get the can, press the second button on the control console, pull the lever again, take the can up to teh Captain's CAbin, pour the goop into the hole in the sleeping chamber, sleep.

So I got the following endings:
1. You're a great person
2. The remorse ending
3. The cat ending (which you can get in a couple different ways)
4. You're a horrible person

But the page suggests there are 6 medals, so probably 6 endings. What am I missing?

There is also "You're a bad person. Have a bit of sympathy, like your cat.", which I got by apologizing in court, but still shattering the memorial.

Edit: Turns out you aren't stuck in place in court.

That actually leads to two separate endings, as well.

e: So far I've found:
1) Walk straight to the girl
2) Kill a crab, plead remorse, repent at the shrine
3) Kill a crab, stand by it
4) Kill a crab, escape through the window during the trial
5) Kill a crab, kill the judge

There are also variations on the above, like destroying the shrine, but they seem to lead to the same ending as others. Not sure what #6 would be.
