As an aside - what do the "DropsWeaponAndGear" checkboxes modify?

They used to modify the rate at which mooks would drop gear rather than cash/ammo, but I'm not sure if they still work right after a couple of game updates. If you up them to 0.4 or 0.5 guys should start spewing guns every time you kill something. Only affects drops from standard enemies, not bosses or chests.

Yup. That jump is awesome... and once you're in, if you feel like cheesing it, you can get through almost the entire camp using the car (not the technical - I usually go with machine-gun buggy).

Of course, I do cheese a lot using vehicles. :v: "Excuse me, y'all just keep attacking past the gate barrier to your hovels - I've got the triggers tied down while I have a donut." "oh look, a big Hyperion base full of robots with the entrance blocked for vehicles. (Highlands) Wouldn't it be a shame if someone went all nitro-four-wheeling up the mountainside over here and ended up parked in the final section (by design), and just idled forward hosing all the spawning 'bots from the back? HELLO CONSTRUCTOR!"

Hello! I see you.

Speaking of constructors:

That could probably have gone better, but at least I made it! :v: gently caress escort missions, "Keep Overseer above 50% health" my rear end.

I've been enjoying my first (solo) playthrough for the most part but some of these missions and areas are just massive slogs. I think the worst part of me has been Opportunity, because there's so much running around from place to place if you want to do the sidequests, and stuff respawns so quickly that I ended up fighting the same constructor and his buddies several times. Maybe I just suck (I totally do) or have bad weapons (also true, I'm 37 hours into the game, level 27, and haven't seen a single orange aside from the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot shield ages ago).

The fight in the Angel Core was also ridiculous, you spend 15 minutes fighting endless waves of robots while waiting for the shields to go down so you can shoot the injectors. It's a pretty cool setpiece and you get some great dialogue during it, but after the second injector went down and it just kept going I wanted to shout "END! EEEEEEENNNND!!" like the bots in the MST3K Manos episode. I think it would have been a lot better if Roland didn't take three weeks to bring down each shield.

edit: wait no, the worst part of the entire game is the Cult Following questline. Running across the entire Southern Shelf with that stupid midget, and trying to find the way to the drat Enkindling :shepicide:

The Enkindling is mainly annoying, in my experience, because you should be pretty overlevelled for that rerun up to the top - I do deliberately overlevel, however, so YMMV.

Yeah, I left the quest pretty late and was horribly overleveled for the whole thing, so I was steamrolling through the enemies. It was just annoying to run all the way there and back (I didn't know you could quit the game and spawn at Liar's Berg until later, that would have helped). As for the Enkindling itself, I spent way too much time running around to find the right path and being annoyed by the useless map.

At least shooting Clayton's face off at the end felt really good, I totally would have done it earlier if this game let you murder non-hostile NPCs. gently caress that guy and his lovely quests. :argh:

And once you have it, beeline to the Badass Crater Of Badassitude! :torgue: so you can do the Barroom Blitz at Pyro Pete's - just start the fun with a couple shots or a few homing grenades, then run back and forth all berserk with your axe and EXPLOOOOOOSIONS laying waste to everyone and everything.

Finally got some decent oranges. First, I get a badaboom rocket launcher from King Mong, and then a few minutes later a loot midget drops an even stronger one.

Those constructors and Saturn never knew what hit them. :black101:

edit: And I'm done. With the normal mode playthrough, anyway. Ignored a bunch of sidequests and didn't touch the DLC yet, but that's what TVHM is there for. I still don't understand why my friends rave on about this game like it's the second coming, but I had a lot of fun anyway.

I'm planning to just do a normal playthrough without a ton of item farming or such. Might adjust the drop rates to something less ridiculous, though.

Hello! I see you.

Sorry about the double post, but it appears that no matter what I do I get some ridiculous frame rate drops in certain places, no matter what my graphics settings are. I have an i7-4770K and a GTX 780, so I should be able to run this game perfectly fine with everything maxed out at 1080p, and for the most part my frame rates are what you'd expect. Running around the world, I easily get over 100 fps, and most fights won't go below 80-90 either. Then there are some fights and areas where the game just shits itself for no apparent reason. For example, this location here:

Guaranteed drop to 45-50 fps, with further drops to the low 30s if there's a fuckton of robots shooting at you and bunch of PhysX stuff flying around. Changing the settings doesn't make a noticeable difference even with most stuff turned down to low and medium, and if I take a few steps in some direction or turn the camera a bit I instantly get like 20-30 frames back. Also, some googling revealed that a few folks were having frame drops even with a GTX 980, so I think I'm gonna chalk this one up to :gearbox:

Weird question: I own the season pass for this game but never got around to playing the Hammerlock one. (I heard I wasn't missing much but still)

I did not have a way to enter the new area, or to get a quest for it or anything so I used Gibbed's Editor to allow myself access to the Grotto/startzone and it seemed to go fine.
My problem now is that I completed the first mission (and cleared the lodge) but now the second mission "Professor Nakayama, I Presume?" Isn't being offered or triggering. I did not finish the egg hunting and rare-beast killing side-missions yet but I doubt those will matter.

Any advice? First Playthrough, level ~42 Mechromancer.

Sounds like your save file has been boned. When you first showed up at the Grotto, were you already at the Lodge or were you at an open area at the top of the waterfall?

The latter.
The problem somehow fixed itself by going into NG+/TVHM and back to the normal mode after it.

Pretty boring DLC altogether anyway.

One of the few things the Pre-Sequel got right was the final boss being quite fun to deal with. No mechanic lasts through the whole fight, so you get to change up things a bit as you go. Most bosses aren't that great in BL, but there's good, okay, bad, and "Whoever came up with Voracidous should be forced to watch Scrappy-Doo cartoons until their eyes bleed."

Claptrap is incredibly obnoxious beyond likability, Tiny Tina is the annoying teenager from hell, and Krieg feels like someone slapped Shadow the Hedgehog together with Invader loving Zim.

Really if you're asking "what are the three best characters in Borderlands 2" the correct answer is "none of them" but I guess you have to pick actual people.
