I preordered this one, but I don't know why people are getting the legendary edition these days.

Because the price for the game and dlc alone almost comes out even to the price of legendary, and you get a cool medium length movie, and a weird art book. Mostly it's the free avatar items though.

I never understood why people liked getting bonus things with video games until I pre-ordered skyrim and got a fancy papyrus paper map in the game case. I wasn't expecting that at all, and it was amazing.

TF2 killcam stills make the best screenshots in the world and nicely justify their existence. :colbert:

But I still don't want them or anything like it in my Halo.

There's a difference between TF2 kill cams and the COD style kill cam that Halo is using. The TF2 kill cam simply whos you who killed you, so you can see what gun they have and look at all their hats, and also see where they were when they killed you. The COD kill cam is a 5 second replay from your killers perspective.

I think they should have the kill cam be in non-ranked games, so you can still get the learning ability of seeing your mistakes and the strategies of others from thier perspectives, but then when the matches count, those kill cams wouldn't show people where you were hiding.

Maybe they feel this type of kill cam will prevent camping, since the player you killed knows exactly where you were, and is most likely running back towards you for revenge.

That mode is very interesting with all the weird changes it has, like how a team that's about to lose gets over shields, and when they go into a point, they can't leave it until they cap it. I feel like the main strategy will be to let the other team capture all three bases, and then use the over shields to have people cap two of the points, and then just lock down the other team on the last point till the match ends.

It's not necessarily a bad thing, I guess. It's just kinda weird that instead of making new weapons with your new faction you're just making the old ones again except with orange lasers instead of green. I doubt they'll ever do a Covie vs. Promo gametype, so why not make Promo weapon only matches more interesting?

Yeah, I mean, the guns will have some differences, such as how covenant weapons always take down shields faster, but are worse against the unshielded body than human weapons, but at a rate that they balance out for time to kill. If they make the guns too different, then players will complain about weapon balance and such. It'd be cool, but we know how 343 feels about pissing off the complainy crowd.

It's actually not too overpowered, they just wanted to show it dominating because it was a trailer. They're not going to be like, "Here's our new vehicle, watch it get EMP'ed by a plasma pistol and then taken down with the AR. It's definitely strong, but no more over powered than a tank, and it presents a huge target for the inevitable one hit kill spartan laser.

V for Vegans

That's pretty small for all the vehicle map emphasis they seem to be putting on it. Looks way too easy for one team to simply steal all the ghosts and lock down the other teams spawn, but I guess we'll see how it plays when we actually get our hands on it.

I hope they have the different dialogs based on what difficulty you're playing on. I always liked how you could play through the game on one difficulty, and then when you switched to a harder difficulty for the second run through, there were dialog bits that were nice and new and really cool to hear.

Not every one who plays a video game spends twenty hours before they get them game memorizing the official wiki page and spending extra money on the books. It does seem random when you go from all of the halo games never mentioning human on human fighting, to suddenly being told to go find evil humans like that's what the game had been for the past ten years. It's kind of like how in Gears of War, they always mention the pendulum wars, but never really tell you about them, and then all of a sudden in Gears 3, you walk into a city that had been destroyed in the pendulum wars, and you realize that they were fighting other people in that war, not aliens.

Ever since the first game I've always dreamed of a spin-off where you play as either a Marine or ODST, and it's all tactical like Ghost Recon or Brothers in Arms: Halo Style. Maybe some kind of squad command system like in Rainbow Six so you can use teamwork to make up for your lack of shields and health compared to Elites, Brutes, etc. Or maybe not and you have to get by with just your own firepower and cleverness, and those of any CoD-campaign-style nameless grunts nearby. I was so convinced ODST was going to be that game, but then it came out and you just played as a very slightly weaker Spartan. :(

I think you're right, though, that would work much better as a game mode rather than a full spinoff. Maybe in Halo 5?

There is Halo 3: ODST, but I agree that a tactical shooter in halo would be cool.

You still have the accumulative rank to rank up, but eventually everyone will get high up on the by playing long enough. Most games now hide the true skill, and in games like battlefield, you can find it if you want, but it is very complicated. Still leads to people bragging about it though. If you're good at a game, you will beat other players and win most games, you don't need an extra number beside your name to prove that.

Has anyone else been experiencing a king of input lag during co-op play? I've played two co-op sessions now (campaign, haven't tried Spartan Ops yet) and each time there seems to be a slight delay, maybe about a second, between when I push a button or move to when it happens on screen. For example I can let go of the analogue stick and for a moment I'll still be moving until the game catches up realizing I'm no longer pushing a direction.

This happened in Halo Anniversary too, but I figured it was just a result of them injecting netcode into a 10 year old game. Although come to think of it Firefight in Reach also began acting kind of funny...

Maybe my upload speeds just suck, but I haven't had this kind of issue with any other game on Xbox or PC when it comes to multiplayer.

I love the jet pack, it opens up so much more of the map to easier travel, it's great for flying over ghosts as they charge you, and my favorite is that when you see someone is about to rush you around the corner, you can just jet pack to the ceiling if you're in close quarters, because they never think to look up in that tight a space, always catches them off guard, allowing you to get one or two shots off on them before they figure out whats up.
