Once again it is time to have strangers send you music so bad that before this you couldn't even comprehend it's existence but that's okay because you're doing the same to them. You'll probably also get some good music too I guess. All you have to do is sign up and you will be matched with another random goon who you will exchange CD mixes with. Once you get a matched up, make a mix, include a track listing and send it on it's merry way. It's just that easy! Hopefully soon after you will be blessed with a mix of your own. Now I am no Mod and as far as I know no Mod has even set foot in any of these threads, so there's nothing making you actually follow through with this after you sign up. Still, don't be a dick. Only sign up if you're 100% sure you can get your mixes out. SIGN UP ARE DONE! Below is a list of names. Ctrl-F your name as many times as you signed up to find your partner. The number next to their name is the page in which their original post can be found on (which you'll need to e-mail/PM them). The stuff afterwards is obviously their country of origin. It is preferred that you try and put lesser known artists or lesser known songs by well known artists but there's also not a thing in the world that can happen to you don't. Still, keep in mind that part of the point of this is to get your musical horizons expanded. Also, you can send file CDs, or memory stick or whatever if you want BUT you need to have at least one audio CD as well. I will say that getting a CD full of sound files just isn't the same as getting a finely crafted mix though. Try and make sure you're mix is mostly listenable to the average person. I'm not saying you can't put some horrible anime themes or unlistenable noise metal on your CD if you really want, but try and balance it out a bit. Still, as I said, if you ignore this, there's not a drat thing anyone can do about it. You can send someone as many mixes as you want, but just expect one CD in return. That's all that's required. Don't feel mad because you sent someone five mixes and you only got one back. Also people tend to send the same mixes to all their partners. Don't get mad because you didn't get your own special unique snowflake mix. Nice CD art is encouraged but not required. All you need to provide is a CD and track listing (and for the love of god make sure it's readable). After that, it's all up to you. Just to reiterate, I added the review option so people who write reviews of the CDs get reviews back. Please, only opt for the review option if you are sure you're willing to write one. It's only fair. You can also post about your own mixes when you send them out, but try to wait for your partner to get them first. In general try not to post about what you're putting in your mixes until they've gone out. It's always better if it's a surprise. On that note, don't request people send you/avoid sending you a particular genre of music. The point of this is to expand you're musical horizons. You might think you hate all metal/rap/country/polka/tuvan throat singing but maybe in some mix someone will send you a song that changes everything. Even if that doesn't happen, don't post about what music you'd like/wouldn't like to receive because we just don't care. If you need good burning software, I recommend CDBurner XP. It's free and works better than almost anything else I've seen. I think that covers everything. If I left anything out, just tell me and I'll update the OP. So until then submit your information, discuss the fine art of mix making and maybe even throw in some late reviews that you forgot to put up in the last thread. Ah, I was waiting for this to show up again. I'd be game to try the exchange out, but I have a question. Would anyone be interested in a completely electronic playlist exchange? Instead of burning a CD and paying for shipping, waiting to receive it, etc, why not send the songs directly? Same principle for sign up, reviewing, etc. Except instead of sending a CD which could get lost in the mail, damaged, etc, just upload the file and have the recipient download it. If anyone is game for this, let me know and I'll set up a seperate thread. With this format, even if you get stiffed, you aren't really out any money or time. Edit: Also there would be no barrier to international swapping.
