Hobo Siege posted:Consider that this thing is going to be rendering three screens at max load, one of them in HD. That's going to be a fairly severe drag, and the unimpressive CPU isn't going to help. I don't think we're looking at an N64 > Dreamcast type leap here. Okay, so you concede that the WiiU having 32MB+2GB of RAM (with 1GB set aside for the OS) compared to the 360s 10MB+512MB isn't the issue. Nor is its vastly, vastly superior GPU. It's the unimpressive CPU, tell me what aspect of the CPUs design do you find most troubling?

Glenn_Beckett posted:why are they releasing a new gen so soon after the last one? Since when is 6 years "so soon"? That seems fairly normal. edit: Vaerai Archon posted:While it has been 5 years

Gendo posted:If you end up buying a couple cheap HDMIs because they have a higher failure rate you still come out way ahead of buying some dumb premium cable. Seriously, you can get a decent HDMI cable for <$3 online, think about how many of those would have to be broken before buying one for $25 at Best Buy makes sense.

Spite posted:It's extremely short sighted of them since they'll be a generation behind yet again as soon as sony and microsoft release their new machines. Even if the doomsayers are correct, it still won't be as bad as the Wii was. Didn't the Wii have something absurd like a 2MB frame buffer? Regardless, it was on the wrong side of the HD divide. I expect the gap between the Wii U and the other next gens will be closer to PS2 vs XBOX than Wii vs 360.
