If it's true they've been working on it for 2 years and they're gonna be working on it for another year, there's no reason to think it'll be terrible. Almost all of DA2's problems were quite clearly due to a short dev cycle (well, and a failure to understand "encounter design" but surely they won't be that dumb again). When your space opera FPSRPG has better encounter design than your epic fantasy game, something is amiss.

As one of the 3 people who enjoyed DA 2, I'll be getting this one, if only to see if it lets you make hilariously cruel choices like in DA:O, DA 2 copped out in that region. When I say I enjoyed DA 2, I meant that I liked some of the characters (Avelline) and thought the Voice acting was good in places, Kirkwall and its endless midnight gang wars got old fast though.

I dunno....I disliked DA:2, but I thought DA:O was pretty well done. It did get a bit repetative, and it definitely needed more variety in enemies, but it was still a solid game. DA:O, not DA 2. They touted it as a spiritual successor to Baldurs Gate. Well let's go Bioware, let's get the characters, enemies, choices, and tactics from Baldurs Gate and throw them into DA:3. I feel like Dragon Age could/should be such another pillar in solid RPG storytelling, but they keep going the route of making it easy for everyone. Baldurs Gate was not easy for everyone, your choices mattered, the characters were pretty good, and the game play was tactical rather than mashy. They need to return to that for the 3rd installment. DA:O was about half way there, DA 2 was a half step back. Build on DA:O and lets see a great game. I'm still going to buy this.

If Mass Effect 3 is anything to go by, it'll have no ending, you'll have to pay multiple dlc prices to get the full content, it has intrusive multiplayer content and the single player consists of one corridor room randomised all of 10 times. Critics will fap the gently caress over it, everyone else will point out how utterly poo poo it is and ea bioware will release joint statements decrying the entitlement of gamers. Then they'll give and release a half baked patch just before a full release dlc, be all smug face, then roll on laughing because despite all the complaints people still buy it!

The DA2 threads were fun to watch, because there was a pretty strong contingent of defenders in the pre-release ones (to the point where somebody tried starting a thread where you were only allowed to say good things about DA2) that dwindled over time once it was released because it really did suck. It was down to like two or three people who openly admitted to liking the game and they were the only ones left after everybody else lost interest in complaining about how lovely the game was. The DLC came out and nobody gave a poo poo. That plus people continually falling for the SNAKES N CAKES gimmick. I look forward to a similar trainwreck for this one.

I didn't play DA2, did they change her voice actor? Speaking honestly, I'll probably get this game if it looks like they understand what was good about Dragon Age: Origins (that is, it's "classic RPG" features like a fully player-created PC, multiple dialogue options and real-time with pause combat). If it's a successor to DA2 I'll be passing, but if it's a successor to Origins, I'll definitely pick it up.

Didn't DA2 do poorly sales-wise compared to Origins over time? That combined with it being widely considered terrible makes me think there's a good chance they'll try to make it more like DA:O than 2, and I really liked the first one (never played the second one). If Ubisoft can come to their senses and cancel their DRM, then by god Bioware can make a good game again.
