A Proper Uppercut posted:So what's the best class/weapon combo to get used to combat? Because I really, really suck. I like knight with hammer/heater. The range on it is really low but your game is to get in, block a hit to make them stagger then just keep swinging and hope your hammer swings faster than whatever they're using. Works really well on anyone with a two hander. If you're trying to fight someone else with a shield you should probably just back up and turtle until your buddies can come around for a flank.

The game is great but I'm not sure if it works very well with 64 players, things just go to hell and it's almost impossible to complete any objectives. The combat turns into a bit of a swingfest too so for now I prefer the smaller servers. I've got a feeling things will be a million times more fun with a few goons though. I do think it's worth the money but things are a little barebones, it's not that different from the old mod, so I'm hoping they're going to support the game with more content. Hopefully content we don't have to pay more for.

I'm getting unplayable ping when I try to join a server in this game. Any ideas on what causes this? Another strange thing is I will do a speedtest before I launch the game and have <100 ping then after I launch the game, try to join a server then quit out I run another speedtest and my ping will be atrocious even with the game closed.

I'm kinda getting sickof the huge amount of people with Game of Thrones names. I can't count the Hounds, Mountains, Imps and Robbs. It's a good show but try to come up with something original guys.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I ended up playing a knight and unlocked the third tier on the hammer. Fine mace or something? Really starting to get the hang of it. 3rd person view makes a HUGE difference.

Don't worry! I only go for situations in which there are no teammates for me to kill. I rock against groups of guys, but 1 on 1 is too hard for my simple mind to handle.

Seems to work for me as well, sometimes I get so frustrated I just run into a large group of enemies and blindly swing a glaive, seems to work very well  Normally though, I find jumping backwards while swinging at legs also works really well against people with shields.

Ok, after several hours of play last night after work, I've come up with the Official Keshik Guide to Becoming Great at Chivalry: Play Man-at-Arms until you are good enough that you can take on a full-health Knight and win. Switch to a Knight, equip the maul. Kill EVERYTHING

I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to join the goon server. The open command in console didn't work and the browser sucks rear end.
