Monster w21 Faces posted:In addition to the normal game mode, BioShock Infinite will include a "1999 Mode", so named for the release year of System Shock 2, a game worked on by Levine and several other Irrational Games developers. 1999 Mode is a more challenging version of the game, requiring the player to make mutually exclusive specialization choices, such as choosing which weapon type that Booker is proficient at, which may make later parts of the game difficult to complete, and may require the player to reload from earlier saved games to manage their resources better. Yay? Was System Shock 2 really that unforgiving? Having to redo whole parts of the game because I didn't spec properly doesn't seem like fun. Regardless, I really like what's been shown for the rest of the game. I hope they follow through with the whole "not an escort mission" idea with Elizabeth. EDIT: Excellent OP, also. Thanks for listing all the videos! PunkBoy fucked around with this message at 17:24 on Oct 21, 2012 |

Even if the story isn't the greatest, I'm hoping the voice acting sells it through. The voice acting trailers were neat to watch, and it looks like Levine is focusing a lot on it.

Dammit, I want to play but I'm stuck at 100% completion on Steam, and whenever I try to launch the game, I get an update screen with a timer that just keeps on going up.

Monathin posted:Did you actually unpack the game yet? If you pre-loaded earlier and have tried to launch it, you need to let it unpack completely first. Yeah, that seemed to be the issue. Looks like it's almost done, now!

sitchelin posted:I literally have the same card. If you need special drivers, I'm not aware of what they are. I can run it on ultra just fine. A bit late, but I have the same card as well and can run it on high/very high with little issue besides the occasional stuttering, which apparently is a common thing anyway. In any case, I'm loving the game so far. Finding out what the "raffle" was at the beginning of the game genuinely disturbed me, even though I should have seen it coming.

Yeah I got my TF2 hats as soon as I launched TF2, so I guess you need it installed.

Moridin920 posted:In all fairness there's no real way of knowing this for sure since when you go into the tear the Booker in that world died and Daisy saw him die, so she probably genuinely thinks you're an imposter somehow. Daisy says (paraphrasing) "Whether you're an impostor or a ghost, you ruin the narrative." She doesn't care if Booker is real or not. His martyrdom is a tool for her cause, and she doesn't want that being ruined.

The Pistol is solid, if only for the generous ammo capacity and the fact it's one of the few weapons that are constantly around. It's good to have as a reliable backup.

That section was also pretty bad. Finny Fun! Wasn't there also a NIS tactical-RPG that was basically a musical? PunkBoy fucked around with this message at 18:09 on Apr 4, 2013 |
