It's WW2 in space, so those complaints are invalid.

But WW2 had to pay attention to airframe drag, so my complaint is valid.

The interesting thing in the trailer is how un-starwarsy it seems to be. Shots like whatsherface super-dramatically raising her gun, or lowering herself into the cavern, come from altogether different types of film. The former is some Terminator 2 stuff, while the latter is seemingly an Alien reference.

You don't see any Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark there?

I love that it doesn't feel like a Star Wars movie. I've had six of them. Haven't we all been saying for years that a different type of movie in the universe of Star Wars is what we wanted? We're about to get a bunch. I, for one, couldn't be happier about that. Exciting and new.

This trailer has been the best so far though.

I agree that it would be interesting to see some big events from the perspective of someone who wasn't force sensitive or had no idea about the bigger role of things. Like a cop movie. They should make a show about it.

Right, like the TIE fighters wings should be shearing off if it tried to make turns like that.

Roll, pitch, and yaw are rotation about the axis of movement, the horizontal axis, and the vertical axis respectively while flying forward.

Not really. since we clearly see them not having their wings sheared off. Space ships are strong and made of metal. (They even become invulnerable and can go straight through other ships if you turn that on)

Bongo Bill

The only thing that should be shearing a TIE Fighter's wings off are the weapons of a more powerful spaceship that is fighting against them.

If you mean I'm convincing myself to like something I don't because I'm a fanboy, the correct answer is I'm not apologizing for liking rappelling into a Star Destroyer because it looks cool and I really don't care if it isn't in a certain expected context. A wrecked Star Destroyer getting explored by the indigenous locals decades later is genius and I don't care if it reminds people of indiana jones, that's all I'm saying.

Yeah, yaw is straight left/right changes of direction without rolling and banking. Aircraft can do it by applying rudder force, but aircraft don't have enormous flat vertical solar panels welded to their sides.

It's almost as stupid as painting solar panels white. :v:

Never understood why the panels are labeled solar panels, when even in the official cutway illustrations you can see radiator tubing inside them. I guess its the whole Stardestroyer dome sensor/shield generator confusion.

Radiators make more sense, but so many years of the EU calling them solar panels is hard to banish.
