I would hope Vader gets more than 3 sentences worth of lines. Was so disappointed at how little of Vader there was in Episode 3.

Also JEJ needs to get those lines recorded NOW, he isn't that young anymore, 81.

Same with John Williams. If he kicks off before he can do some more Star Wars composing it just wont be the same.

This just made the decision for me: "Don't watch The Clone Wars series".

These are not connected in any way.

The Clone Wars series is actually pretty good and has some decidedly dark elements for a kids show.

I never could watch the series, that style of cartoon just looks so weird to me.

You are missing out. It fleshes out the universe quite nicely. We have political brinkmanship, betrayal, brutal deaths. And for a kids show it is surprisingly mature.

The entire series is about to hit Netflix along with the unaired episodes that got cancelled due to the Disney deal.

Most of it is pretty good (except for some blatant THIS IS A KIDS SHOW episodes). Now that I think about it, I am kind of surprised as to the range between KIDS SHOW |---------------|MATURE SHOW this series spans.

From a production point of view, it gets much better as it progresses, especially from season (2? 3?) onward.

The only unknown (at least for me, I haven't looked it up) is what Netflix is going to charge.

$7.99 a month for all of Netflix.

I saw the news posted earlier and breathed the breath of new life. A life that will be filled with the wailing tears of epic neckbeardery. Jesus Christ these kids cant let some poo poo go.

quote:

They call it "legends" I call it "I'm not paying to see your movie

I call bullshit on that. Bet you $1 USD that mother fucker right there has the Blu Rays purchased from Amazon (with the receipt printed and folded neatly inside the case) and he will do the same with cosplay of Jedi robes on opening night next year and have a pre-order on Amazon (with the $99 Prime new price that he protested as well).

Some people just cant let poo poo go and realize, it is entertainment, and getting so loving wrapped up into it is a waste of time.

I enjoyed the Zahn books, the Dark Jedi comics for what they were, a "what if" quasi-official expansion on a franchise I liked and left it at that.

Clone Wars is actually pretty good. Too many people write it off directly as some kind of kids show. Sure it had a rocky start, but the animation, and depth of the political landscape quickly solidified. It is surprisingly violent and dark for what we would expect to be broadcast for American animation.

Wouldn't it be healthier to consider the new stuff to be a reboot, and come to terms with the fact that no more "real" Star Wars material will be produced?

The old stuff isn't going away, that would be like lamenting the old TMNT cartoon show every time a new series shows up.

The problem there is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csn1j65e7oQ

Toward the end they are in this weird chamber which has a view screen on every possible aspect of the turtles in one place. The comics. The various series, the movies, and everyone is aware of all incarnations....Star Wars and TMNT really cant compare in that vein.

If people had realized that all content post ROTJ was just "authorizations" from Lucasfilm and not being produced BY Lucasfilm as I had, this wouldn't hurt as much. It is simply entertainment. When you die 40+ years from now, none of this is going to loving matter. No, you can't have a refund because Disney said your stuff isn't a part of the official line.

Okay, good idea. All right everyone, you heard MrBigglesworth. All discussion and speculation re: Episode VII, positive or negative, is officially closed until the movie comes out next year and we can speak with authority about the finished product. I guess we should just go back to navel gazing about the prequels like we've been doing.

I think pre-emptively making GBS threads all over Epsiode 7 is a bit pre-mature. People bitched and griped to no end when Disney bought Marvel, but poo poo themselves happy when Avengers came out.

Speculation is just that, but being all down on it before we even have 1 second of a teaser trailer....jesus christ, give a rest already. Lucas's familiarity with your adolescent butthole has been discussed ad naseum.
