Does the quick connect feature work at all? It seems to sit there way too long.

Sometimes you just gotta drop in out of nowhere and bite somebody to death. That's how it works.

Bone spikes kick rear end. I hope more alien commanders start using them as people become more accustomed to commanding.

So far, marines win 48.8% of matches. http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2012/11/post_launch_post_mortem

It's a successful synthesis of shooting, strategy, and total clusterfuck. It might be even better than TF2.

Gorging can go two ways 1. Chill out and heal folks and build some structures 2. Insane onos rush healing support

Gorge with carapace can take a ton of damage. And since he's a bigger, slower target, marines will waste their bullets shooting a gorge while they get eaten by skulks.

Wildtortilla posted:I'm really tempted to buy NS2 this weekend. Do marines have a sprint or run? Or do they move at a flat speed like in NS1? There's sprinting and it's very important. Also, marines still move backwards really slowly.

No, not at all. Some people are having problems and your framerate will drop substantially during heavy combat, but it's awesome.

All those hidden buttons assigned to different structures that you have to seek on the map make commanding a real pain in the rear end. The command interface definitely doesn't feel as polished as being a normal player.

You know what's great? Switching to gorge in a vent and bile bombing a marine base every time they turn their back.

There's nothing better than being an alien! Dropping in from the ceiling to flank some helpless marines, dropping bile bombs to disrupt structures and obscure vision, and dropping gas clouds into otherwise safe areas are so great. It's like the whole team is based on organized griefing.

Lerk spores does plenty of damage, but marines are usually pretty quick to get out of the way. Like everything else in this game, it works way better when combined with the chaos of some teammates doing more direct attacks. The lerk also has another type of gas called umbra which cuts bullet damage in half for aliens inside the cloud.

To be effective, you really need to flank them. Use the vents, use the ceiling, and jump around so they can't hit you.

Yeah, you can download the content on Steam now. The binary isn't available yet, though.
