I'm in the UK and I can launch multiplayer but if I try to join a game I get booted due to not having a 'valid Steam license'.

I also can't launch the campaign because the Steam servers are too busy.

I'm killing the time watching people call for compensation and refunds on the steam forums because of this, a thing we knew about ahead of time that apparently they failed to read on the store page.

Wasn't there a high profile game on steam that got sold early in retail so valve unlocked it on steam too? Shouldn't that be the frickin standard for digital releases?

Ok... Apparently today, I'm getting a message after I'm in a game for 5 to 30 seconds, saying my steam account isn't authorized to play. It then kicks me from the game.

Having the Steam release unlock after retail is disappointing, but not surprising. The reason for the staggered release is probably from pressure from brick and mortar stores- their business is increasingly threatened by digital retailers. So the publisher plays a balancing act to try to keep brick and mortar happy while still reaping in the superior profit from digital.

Looks like the max FoV will be raised to 90 in a patch. This is pretty cool of Treyarch. Too bad the next IW developed CoD will most likely go back to a locked 65, though.

That's up to the publisher not Valve.

Steam just said it was unpacking the game and when it was done the button still said pre-load, not play. Restarted Steam and I'm good to go now.

I ran out of disk space while it was unpacking, then after freeing up some space it's making me redownload everything.

At least I'm not this goon from the console thread:

So, uh, here's a thing. My roommate picked this up on PC, and when he put in the second disk, there weren't any Black Ops 2 files on there. Just Mass Effect 2 files. Anybody else run into this? Or hear anything else? The only thing I can find is this (terrible) thread.

Lucky guy, Mass Effect 2's a great game.

But no, that's completely loving bizzare, like, what chain of events could possibly have led to that?

Onean

I don't know! I've been trying to think it through myself, but I just can't think of any way, aside from some guy copying files onto a random disk and it getting mixed up in something somewhere.

At least he's been able to finish it through Steam so far.

This happened to me too. I was pretty pissed. Then I just put the product key into steam and downloaded it there. It didn't take too long, but it was kind of annoying to see Mass Effect 2 pop up every time I tried to use disc 2.

No, but all those game modes are completely customizable, so you can remove the radar if you want in the options.

80, it's always been that way in CoD games. So 90 would be a first, sadly enough.

The worked on the one they used in black ops, which worked pretty well already. I saw 1 hacker in black ops in ~700 hours, so unless they mess up big time, it should be pretty good in black ops 2.
