iastudent posted:Can anyone give me a second opinion on this guy? A Duo with region mod and full capacitor replacement sounds more promising than having to import one for about the same cost and having no idea of the actual quality of it. I'm going to suggest KeithCourage over at PCEngineFX forums for this. I got my Duo from him region modded and all the caps replaced for $250 shipped (I live a state over so I'm sure that brought shipping down a little). As I always say when I mention him, he only takes checks/money orders however if you look around the forums you'll see whenever someone posts a WTB thread there people just tell them to contact him to pick one up.

I figured I'd post my Rakuten order and yeah I'm getting ready for some for shipping even with the discount because I picked up a Family Trainer pad. For anyone who has ordered from surugaya-a-too before do they let you get like Registered Air Mail instead of EMS or is it only EMS?quote:Items:

I ordered my Santee's stuff and am just waiting for it to be shipped! As far as what shipping method people are using, I'm going to use USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. I've never had problems as far as things being broken in shipment and under normal circumstances it's only in the system for a couple of days so it's not long enough for anyone to (hopefully) screw anything up.

After pining forever for a soldering station I've decided that i wanted a Weller WESD51 but when I was showing it to a coworker I found out there is a WES51 which is $40 less but doesn't have a digital wattage control. My question is should I pay an extra $40 for the digital control? If it matters this is my first soldering anything and I want something that will last and be generally awesome.

My Surugaya order came today! Time for pictures! Hello Beethoven! Sorry that you're blurry! A family trainer pad along with Takeshi's Castle 2 and some other game. I bought Arkanoid in box because I thought that if I bought Arkanoid 2 without a box it wouldn't include the controller. Well I was wrong about that! Also the V-Tetris box is kinda beat up but the manual inside is pristine and it still has the registration card. I bought the Saturn games because they were stupid cheap and with the Family Trainer pad I knew shipping was going to be up there. I messed up though I added Super V'Ball and I really wanted Super Dodge Ball Thanks to this thread I found out that Rumble Pack Mario existed and I had to have it so I picked that up. Waverace was a cool game and it was cheap (non rumble version) and I figured for ~$3 for Chrono Trigger I could fake my way through it even though it's in Japanese. I was really happy with the quality of the items and over all order. I will definitely be ordering from them again! Also the high shipping prices are worth it considering it was shipped December 9th!

My EZ Flash IV order was marked as shipped from Real Hot Stuff HK and I got a nifty tracking number (I paid the extra $2 for registered mail) which does nothing right now but it was shipped pretty fast now the 3 week wait. It's also worth noting that I found a MicroSD to MiniSD adapter on eBay for $2 shipped from a US seller so if you're wondering where to get one that's where I bought mine at. I didn't know that about that version so that makes it even more awesome. I also noticed that my post made it out like the Onimusha 1 case only had Onimusha 2 inside but what I meant was it had 1 & 2 inside, I edited the original for clarity. Also the tc1 pot is for video stuff the only reason why I know this is because I tried to bring back a dead SNES I found in my closet the other night which I got to actually turn on this time around it displayed everything in black and white, messing with that was supposed to fix it. I can't 100% confirm that's the truth but that's what the internet said and the internet never lies!

al-azad posted:It's an unwritten rule of sorts. Unless it adds to the LP (one goon played Super Mario 64 exclusively with his feet and used the camera to showcase this) people care about the game, not you and your friends on the couch. The camera overlay is seen as a dirty youtuber thing. The LP forum is its own beast so post whatever you're doing in Sandcastle first and just be aware that people will probably react very harshly to it no matter how good you actually are. I'm going to start doing LPs once I buy VAC but I don't think I'm going to fool with posting them here in the Let's Play area because they seem very picky on how they want it done and I think I'd rather do my own thing like Lord Dudeguy than have a thread here about it. Although I do think the Sandcastle thread has good information in it. This raises the question does anyone care if you post a random plug for your youtube if you start doing a nonSA let's play? I'm not saying you should update us on every post but a hey guys I'm doing this over here just an FYI seems ok to me. Safari Disco Lion posted:So, breaking off those tabs to play Super Famicom games in a SNES: is this doable without opening the system or do you pretty much have to open it to get enough of the material out for the SFC carts to go in? I have like 90% of both tabs broken but there's still a tiny bit of both left in that I can't really get rid of without opening the system. I opened mine up with a gamebit and sanded it down with a dremel because whenever there's an excuse to bust out the dremel I'm on it!
