Haters gonna hate

Ahhh. I've signed up for this several times but it always fell through. I'm in the bay area. This is what I've got:

Ghiradelli Chocolate. San Francisco is known for it, and it's pretty good. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, milk chocolate with sea salt, dark chocolate with raspberry, etc.

The above is Mochi, Weird marble soda, and wasabi peas, which are amazing. I live near Ranch 99, which is humongous Asian supermarket. There's mochi, seaweed snacks, panda cookies with chocolate inside, pocky, etc. It has everything. EVERYTHING. The weird soda with the marble inside (I've tried it before--I don't get it)

I also live next to a couple Russian, Indian, and Persian stores. So if you're very specific, I can probably find ethnic spices/jams/foods that are hard to find.

What I want:

Canadian goons. I miss maple syrup candies like this, not the wafer and maple syrup crap in between, THIS:

Mr. Big, Oh Henry!, Coffee Crisp, Ketchup chips, and all dressed chips. If I could get a Montreal bagel, I would love you forever. I would consider other offers, though.

Before I get my hopes up, is it possible to ship cheese from UK to USA without breaking the bank? A couple years ago, a local store had Tipsy Brit English Cheddar with port wine - fell in love with it, but have had no luck getting my hands on it. Aside from that, I'm interested in Suppanda (sp?) Sour candy, real wasabi (the only stuff we can get here is literally horseradish with green food coloring sold as wasabi), and Frisk mints from Japan. I live in a US city, so all of the usual foodstuffs from the states are available

I mainly came to lurk at what other countries have since I don't have quite enough disposable income for this, but I want to post a warning too.

A few years ago, I bought Julmust in a local "European" store(in Kansas) and it was loving delicious and hoppy, to the point where my girlfriend at the time thought I had been drinking beer.

Here's the warning though: I was at Ikea the other day and they sell Julmust. Their Julmust suuuuuucks. It's like RC Cola with a tiny hint of hops.

So if you are in an Ikea, don't let the poor imitation get your hops up

Unless it's some sort of weird, outlandish flavour, Betty Crocker frosting is available from a lot of the highstreet supermarkets these days, ie Tesco, for around £2 a tub. Peanut Butter cups too (had a pack for breakfast this morning).

Also, while not quite as reasonable pricewise, TK Maxx often has a random assortment of foriegn foodstuffs.

I hope this doesn't go against the spirit of the thread, since I'm also in the U.S., in Orlando, Florida. However, I can get my hands on almost ANYTHING, since I live and/or work near large, well-stocked Hispanic, Asian, Middle Eastern, and Indian grocery stores. Dude, seriously, how have you lived in Michigan for half a decade without setting foot in the glory that is Meijer's?! It's Asda, but using its powers for good instead of evil (mostly), not to mention you can buy anything there except real estate, any vehicle bigger than a riding lawn mower or golf cart, and any animal bigger than a parrot or guinea pig! For ginger beer, try Vernor's. Oh, and I nearly forgot the best thing -- get drunk, go to Meijer's at 2 AM, and play with the toys. And Superman ice cream. Or Purple Cow.

Goddamnit, now I'm homesick... So I'm in!

I live in London, so not only can I hook you up with all sorts of British goodies, I'll also do my best to track down stuff from ethnic speciality shops (note: Cyber Candy doesn't count! £4 for a tub of Betty Crocker frosting... gently caress that!). If you'd rather have ingredients (ie Oxo cubes, Bisto, etc, etc) and/or recipes, that's cool too. Hell, if you like I'll happily send you a photographic print of London from my favorite stall in Covent Garden!

In return, you can flat-out pay me, if you like, or you can send me stuff. There's two groups of food I'd like:

1) typical/regional/Christmassy treats from wherever you are -- sweet or salty, but not, say, hakarl or natto or sturstomming; or

2) stuff from home. I'm from Michigan. Seriously, if someone wants to run around Meijer's and grab me some Hershey's Kisses, peanut butter cups, dried cherries, El Matador tortilla chips, wholewheat cheddar goldfish, and the like (maybe some alphabet soup), I'll love them forever. Figure out how to send me Diet Vernor's without breaking it or my bank account and I'll worship you as a god.

That said, while I'm happy to pay for shipping, please check what it'll cost. I sent a good friend a box of Olympic tat, and it cost me £60.

Meijer's, for crying out loud! It's in the chiller cabinets with the bologna-ish cold cuts, not like sliced turkey and such, and doesn't look appetizing.

Looks like I can get you either a 23-11/16" x 11-3/4" x 3" or 12" x 12" x 5-1/2" large box stuffed with up to 20lbs of stuff shipped for $60 or a medium box (13-5/8" x 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" or 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2") for $48 stuffed with 20lbs of stuff.

Seeing as scandinavian food has been a hit so far, I'll bring up some Norwegian variants

First up is Brunost

Brunost is a scandinavian whey cheese with caramelized suger which produces it's distinctive taste and color (Brunost literally means 'brown cheese'). Delicious on waffles!

Makrell i tomat Mackerel filet in tomato sauce. Not much more to say.

Kvikk Lunsj Very similar to the Kit-Kat.
