I just discovered that Wii Karaoke U is a thing that exists, and exists in Japan and EU but not in NA.

It looks like it has a fantastic song selection.

I'm really jealous of you EU types right now. This would be the rare "party game" I'd actually have use for.

EDIT: There does appear to be a Karaoke game on the NA Eshop, but it also looks like it sucks.

Yeah it really blows because Nintendo cleared out their Wii U mic, which was an awesome mic for like $5 here (originally $30) and there just isn't any games that use it and it's a weird rear end mic that doesn't work with the PS3/4.

It's not in the PR but Steamworld Collection (Dig & Heist with DLC) and FAST Racing Neo (game & DLC) are out at retail this week alongside the Selects games, €24.99 / £19.99 each. Steamworld Heist is really good!

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 is getting a retail release in a pack with the first game but it still isn't dated for Europe. (NA's getting it next week.)

River City Tokyo Rumble is not the River City Ransom remake but it is a game from the same series with a similar style - to be specific, it's a sequel to the 3DS remake of the game known in English as Renegade. NA's getting a physical release but it's digital-only in PAL-land.

That new Sonic game is another western-made nothing, don't bother.

Yeah, and just as a reminder, that if you live in the US (and we get these as Nintendo selects), and have Prime, Amazon counts these as new releases and gives you the new release discount. So instead of $20 each, they end up being $16 if you buy them in the first week or so that they are reduced.

Edit: I'm dumb, we already have some of these on Nintendo Selects, and they are too old to get the discount. But just keep in mind for future reference.

From what I've seen it actually doesn't look that bad (probably the best of the Sonic Boom games though that's not saying much), they even delayed it by a year so they could improve things. If they at least got rid of the forced backtracking for collectables from Shattered Crystal (which played a lot more like a Sonic game than Rise of Lyric did and wasn't a buggy mess, though it had problems of it's own) it could be passable.

ed: Having now actually played a bit of the game I can confirm that this is pretty much an improvement in every aspect: the game is a lot more fast paced, the levels are much shorter and less maze-like than Shattered Crystal and, while there are still collectables, as far as I can tell so far they're only for unlocking extra content and not actually required to complete the game. So yeah, surprisingly I'm actually having fun with this so far.

Remember, Gunvolt fans; the retail compilation with both games will be out in NA next week, so if you want a physical copy, hold off for a little while.

Steamworld Heist is a shockingly good side-view SRPG and a good get on whichever platform you choose. (NA's getting it in a week or two, including the retail bundle with Dig.)

NA's probably getting the FAST Racing Neo DLC today but it's not on the PR. (NA currently won't be getting the retail release, however.)

Played a bit of Gunvolt 2 and it's pretty fun (though I'm probably going to enjoy playing as Copen more than Gunvolt), each character has unique stages/bosses to choose from (though some are shared between them), it has full (Japanese) voice acting this time (which is kind of funny at times as apparently they changed pretty much everyone's name in the English version). One problem I have is that this game seems way more dialouge heavy than the previous one to the point where there were several times during the intro where I was wishing the game would just shut up and let me play.

He can dash in any direction you hold the d-pad in (for example is upward dash can be useful for scaling walls quickly) and dashing into enemies is how he tags them, I personally found it a little easier to pull off if you switch dash to the A button rather than L (though since the sub weapon you're given at the start is fairly strong I didn't bother with tagging and just adapted a run and gun strategy). Also, there's a little icon on the top right corner of the bottom screen you can toggle on and off, does anyone have any idea what that does?
