Is it possible to get games from other VCs on the Wii U or 3DS?

I've been informed that Bubble Bobble exists on the Wii U/3DS VC in Japan, but not the US. I know it's available on Wii, but that has its own host of downsides I'll skip if I can get it on Wii U somehow.

We're never getting any Square-Enix games, are we

I'm pretty sure Disney is/would be fine with those games getting re-released on the Wii U VC service, since you can still buy them on the regular Wii VC storefront. Also, it's basically free money for them since Nintendo pretty much handles all the re-coding for the VC service.

Disney is far far less retarded about releasing old games on digital distribution services than Lucasarts was. Yes, I know how weird that sentence sounds considering it's about the company that introduced the "Disney vault".

What took them so long to finally release those games again, if I may ask?

As for Wii, I think they've got most of their own good games on there now, I think? Skyward Sword being the only obvious exception that comes to mind.

I've seen or played most of the games on the American Wii U Virtual Console at some point in my life, and most of them are at least average. A few sneak in like Bases Loaded or Spelunker yea. But just going through Natsume's Wii U VC catalog for example, almost everything they dropped was like a 7/10 or higher. Even still, they're using publishers with a high pedigree.

I'd unironically buy and enjoy Spelunker, even if I never made it pass the first level
