I can't remember anything that happened in this years Spa race. Was it this year or last when Lewis had that crash?
|

That was last year, if you're talking about the Kobayashi crash into Les Combes. This year's Spa was where Grosjean took out most of the top 5 in the championship table at the first corner. There was some pretty decent racing after that, but it was all behind Button who was doing a fairly impressive Vettel impersonation in P1. Vettel, meanwhile, was doing a decent enough Button impression - that is, recovering from his crap qualifying to finish on the podium with some nice overtakes into the final chicane (Grosjean's demolition job kind of helped as well).

I know things aren't necessarily in context and blood can be up when the quote is taken but stuff like this doesn't half make them sound like twats: "Yes, we are proud of him," he said. "But we are very disappointed because the one who deserved this championship was really him." That's the sport, innit. Ferrari been the recipients of some extraordinarily good results for exactly the same reasons RBR are, destiny is gently caress all to do with it.

TC and TC2000, which are Argentine touring series race there, and FIA GT raced in 2008 and GT1 raced in 2010 and 2011. Its not rated for F1 and even if it was the local infrastructure for logistics and tourism is awful since few people go to San Luis anyways.

Now that I've calmed down I can say that I enjoyed this season, F1 its about entertainment and it served its purpose, it doesn't matter that much that my favorite driver didn't win in the end. Now if you excuse me I'm off to pray to the racing gods to put an end to the Vettlereich.

It's just been a fantastic week for me professionally, personally and racing wise. I'm really loving happy. Didn't think it was possible in the beginning of the season but low and behold. Amazing, amazing. I would have been okay with Alonso winning too, especially after getting taken out and having to drive a car shittier than an HRT.

I worked the FIA lights before. There is definitely a surface flag option on it, and it's just information only so it doesn't matter. It's not forcing anyone to slow down, it's just letting them know there is something on the track that isn't supposed to be there. For example you could have a station displaying both a green and surface flag at the same time - would just mean that there is an incident in the sector prior to the stand and debris/crap/stuff on track in the following sector. In that situation, lights would be green and there would be a regular surface flag displayed at the stand.

What an amazing race to end the season. I don't want to think up conspiracy theories, but I think Charlie had it out for Hulkenberg or something. First the safety car comes out because of some trash on the track, then he gets a drive through for a racing incident. Unless Nico really did purposefully do a sweet drift to take out Lewis for no reason. This might be my first season, but it might end up being the most memorable for me. I don't know how many people get to go to a race the first year they watch F1, but it was an amazing experience for me. Plus getting to see Schumacher driving in his last season ever in person. I hope Massa continues to improve. In the last three races of the season, he out qualified Alonso. He's also been keeping up or has been ahead plenty of times. It's going to be hard for Ferrari to call him a number 2 driver if he keeps going up.

True but remember that they were in very different situations, tough to know their set ups and the like. But I agree, if he keeps sticking the car in front of Alonso it could be 2008 Rd. 2. Especially if people want to believe the Vettel-Ferrari rumors....what if Alonso got Kimi'd? lol. Edit: Also I just remembered. The Kimi - MSC battle was ridiculous. I watched the race delayed so I didn't comment in the thread, but I swear they were interlocked thru T1 but never touched. Because I haven't had my end-of-season babyish whinge yet, I'll say Vettel was loving lucky not to get a drive through for his start incident at turn three given how Hunklebert got a penalty for sliding into someone in the wet in a car that he was complaining was pushing under downshifts. What a loving madhouse race. Screamer ending to a screamer season. I hope this is the end of "Vettel can't race". Coming from behind from the back of the grid in Texas and managing to do just enough to win it all with a car that was damaged literally the entire race.

17th of March. That's like....next year. Also, I agree with poster above re: Massa. Would be nice to see him mixing it up again at the front of the field; unfortunately I think the die is cast and he's both psychologically and contractually obliged to be the number two at Ferrari.
