In my opinion the fact that he's on a bad team makes Perin more worthy of being on lists, he's behind a really poo poo defense. GD have you seen Niang much? I'm hearing some good comments about him but haven't really had a chance to watch him.

That's a good point - he gets a lot of opportunities to display his talent, heh. Every time Niang has played for Milan (all 2 or 3 of them) he's been good; scoring in the Coppa Italia even. I didn't see him in France at all, but he definitely looks like he knows what he's doing and he's got a great shot on him. If Robinho leaves in January we'll see more of him.

I hope it's okay to bump a week old thread but I've been meaning to post this ever since I saw the thread. Don Balon was a Spanish magazine that yearly published the 100 best upcoming talents in the world, since its dissolution due to the economic crisis (and a scandel that had one of its lead editors arrested) the website 101 Great Goals has taken its place in creating the list so here's the 2011 and 2012 Don Balon list. I've also found the 2008 and 2001 lists where you're equally able to find a failure as a success. Riotgrrill fucked around with this message at 09:36 on Dec 27, 2012 |

11 years old is pretty young to make a list it seems. But if half those barcelona players pan out, there is going to be a serious lack of available minutes in the midfield and up front. And we'll still need to buy defenders.

Modus Trollens posted:defenders are so 2010 Personally, I have the impression that defenders really need experience to become good. Of course, strikers and such also need experience, but for those offensive players great technical ability can make up for that. Defenders on the other hand really need to know where to be and how to react and that's just something that takes time to learn. Also, defenders need to be strong/big, which is something that takes time to improve as well. As such, there aren't that many defenders that are already great at a very young age.

Just watching Caulker this year, he is obviously very technically gifted but sometimes he just isn't in the right place. Great on corners/freekicks in the box though, got a head on him.
