Iraq beat Korea on penalties and will face Uruguay on semis. We played a friendly against them before the tournament started that ended 0-0.

the two key players will both be on the left side in that match. laxalt for uruguay has been incredibly impressive to me and like wise ali #3 for iraq

Laxalt's main problem is that he lives up to his nickname: "Bucket". He plays with a bucket on his head most of the time, but yesterday was the first time he looked up often and made some very nice passes so maybe he's working on that. He's got skills but the most impressive thing about him is incredible work rate and his almost Cavani-esque stamina. The only whole Iraq game I watched was against Chile and I liked them a lot. Lots of skill and speed going on, a very Asian-style team.

Iraq is a weird team in that their footwork is lacking in many respects but they keep running and blocking crosses like it's nothing. I wonder if they have good doctors, hmmmm.

I don't notice footwork-lacking teams because I'm uruguayan and don't know what good footwork looks like. All I know is kicking it up for the forwards and absorbing pressure.

Ghana/Chile is pretty fun to watch. Ghana just equalized in the 72nd minute.

Chile's passing is abysmal at times. There's a number of pretty great players but it seems like they keep losing the ball and it's just annoying.

Ghana should be up like 4-2. So many missed opportunities.

This has to be by far the worst Youth WC in terms of attendance. All the stadiums are empty.

So, there's paper talk about how the Iraqi keeper is older than 20. He supposedly played for Iraq in 2005 making him 12 years old if his current birth date is correct. It all started with Chilean paper El Mercurio. He's supposed to be this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbgY4VryEy4 I don't really see it, but it's nice to have some controversy and that will be a good excuse if they kick us out.

Yeah, I already said that the guy in the video doesn't look like the current keeper. It's more than likely bullshit.

France beat Ghana 2-1 to move on to the U20 finals. Meanwhile, Iraq just took a 1-0 lead over Uruguay.

Uruguay is playing like poo poo. I don't see us getting back into the game unless we change our entire midfield.

The Uruguay keeper is pretty drat awful. His positioning on the goal was ridiculous when everyone except him knew that the Iraqi player was gonna go for goal.
