Finally got my invite. I'm kinda lost, but those URLs in the 1st post certainly helped a lot. I'm just really driving around hacking portals, getting keys, and linking. I'm really not sure on why its easier in groups? After I hack a portal it says its 'too hot' to hack again for 5mins or so, is that just for me, or can a group of folks ride train on it w/o that limit? Atlanta, GA here, if anyone wants to try and team up I guess.

Here's another link that could go in the OP: https://docs.google.com/document/d/...kTGQ/view?pli=1 godzirra, it's easier in groups to capture an enemy portal specifically. XMP's have an area of effect, so two people can coordinate where they are when they fire shots to maximize how many resonators are hit. You also will need more than one person around if you are placing higher level resonators since the number you can place becomes gets lower as you gain levels. IE: You can place 8x Level 1 resonators alone, but 8x Level 8 resonators must be placed by 8 different players. I know it's a lot to digest. At this point in the game, just worry about farming up keys and XMP's, maybe see if there are opportunities to create links/control fields. How do I link portals? I have tried to link portals but there are none relatively close to another and when I try using a portal key to access another it tells me it is too far away.

You can only use a XMP/resonator equal to or lower than your level.

What was the wait time like for your invites? I applied about a week and a half ago, and I've seen reports that people have been waiting for a month or more. (Not including you guys who sent in fan art or whatever. I am in no way artistically talented or even really creative at all.)

Is there a way to challenge the existence/legitimacy of portals with Google? Or to petition for better names? Enlightenment in Denver are just crapping out bullshit nonsense portals called "Denver" here and there, multiple portals per location, etc.

I'm torn on if it'd be good or bad. It seems like Ingress might be better if they relaunched it with a better experience curve and training section, and maybe some things like innate portal energies to help balance out areas that have either sparse or dense portals.

Convince your teammates to use a dedicated group chat medium like G+ Messenger or Facebook. Its push, lightweight and doesn't require you to be in game burning battery. Overall its win win. Its nice to be out and about and ping the chat group to see if anyone can look at the intel map for you and give some direction on moves. Its also a great way to share codes quickly since they get redeemed to fast.

It only took 12 hours to get my invite after signing up, so I'm not sure how these things are distributed. Anyway, the action around Sunnyvale/Mountain View is intense, naturally, and the in-game chat between the factions in Santa Cruz is hilarious. One guy is already level 8 here and he's out there 15 hours a day. I think I saw him today - a white-haired athletic old guy. This game is weird. And all male.

So some strange poo poo's been happening. 1. Last night, I went to go take out a L3 portal. Should've been an easy task, yeah? Wrong. I got it down to one last L1 resonator, and a L5 XMP did 1% damage to it with me standing on top  Exact same thing happened this morning. I guess it's a sign to hold off on attacking for now.2. I farm the hell out of it and after two weeks its only been attacked once and it was half rear end.
